Kerbal Space Program 2 Announced With Best Trailer of 2019

Time to Send Some Kerbals To Their Deaths

During Gamescom Opening Night Live, publisher Private Division has announced that popular space flight simulator Kerbal Space Program is getting a sequel. And while there’s just over four months to go until 2019 ends, Kerbal Space Program 2 is a strong contender for having the best trailer of 2019.

Combining images that look like they were pulled from 2001: A Space Odyssey and M83’s Outro as a song, Kerbal Space Program 2 looks to be just as goofy and in-depth as the original. While no gameplay was shown, the trailer focused on space flight, the colonization of planets, and the creation of space stations. There were also plenty of unfortunate accidents, which anyone who has played Kerbal Space Program can tell you is a routine part of the job.

Kerbal Space Program 2 will be published by Private Division, a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive who previously published Kerbal Space Program: Console Edition. Kerbal Space Program 2 will not be developed by Squad, who originally developed the first game. Instead, Squad will support Star Theory Games, who are the primary developers behind the sequel. In conjunction with the announcement, the Kerbal Space Program YouTube channel published a video that focuses on Star Theory Games and the work they’ve done so far on the game.

Kerbal Space Program 2 is set to launch on PC, PS4, and Xbox One sometime in 2020.
