The first official trailer for the upcoming American Horror Story: 1984 returns to its 80s and Friday the 13th-inspired roots.

True to American Horror Story tradition, a bunch of mini-teasers released before the trailer drop, each reveling in their slasher homage and cheesy setting. This season appears to be rooted in more “real” threats, like escaped serial killers and killing sprees. Still being a few seasons in, there’s no telling what the latest threats could be.

This trailer shows Cody Fern’s character, who appears to be an aerobics instructor, roping his friends into being camp counselors at Camp Redwood. While on the way there, they hit a person with their van before meeting the rest of the Camp Redwood crew. There are hints about the camp’s mysterious past, especially after a killer known as Mr. Jingles escapes from a nearby prison.

In addition to Cody Fern, former cast members Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, and John Carroll Lynch return to American Horror Story. Joining this season are Glee’s Matthew Morrison, Pose’s Angelica Ross, skier Gus Kenworthy, Dear White People’s DeRon Horton, and Shameless’ Zach Villa. This will be the first season where series regulars Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson — the only two actors to appear in all eight previous seasons of the show in some capacity — will not appear.

American Horror Story: 1984 premieres on FX on September 18th. More teasers are likely to drop before then, so keep your eyes peeled.
