Paladins Receives PlayStation 4 Crossplay Today 1

Today, Hi-Rez Studios announced that PlayStation 4 crossplay is now compatible with the hero shooter Paladins: Champions of the Realm.

Hi-Rez have been working closely with Sony in order to make Paladins, SMITE: Battleground of the Gods, and Realm Royale all PS4 crossplay compatible. The crossplay experience includes both single player queues and cross-platform parties for each title. Paladins will launch today alongside it’s update, SMITE next week, and Realm Royale in early October. This sees Hi-Rez continue to deliver its promise of bringing the crossplay experience to all of its games, as the recently announced Rogue Company also has PS4 crossplay included at launch.

“Gaming is really about one thing: Community,” said Alex Cantatore, Brand Director of Live Games for Hi-Rez Studios. “Cross-play is so powerful, and so core to what Hi-Rez does, because it lets our communities come together — regardless of where they choose to play. If you’re a SMITE, Paladins, or Realm Royale player it shouldn’t matter what platform you own. All that matters is that you’re a part of our crazy, wonderful communities.”

Paladins receives this extended crossplay experience today, as part of its September update. This makes Paladins the first and only online hero shooter to appear on five major platforms with crossplay between them all. It’s good to see Sony gradually allowing more crossplay experiences, though our hope is that they eventually do away with their current restrictive policy altogether.

If you’re interested in getting in on the action, Paladins: Champions of the Realm is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and Discord.
