Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition Announced

It's the definitive version of the Mayan Apocalypse

Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition Announced 1

Square Enix has announced the Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition which will release on November 5, 2019 for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. There will be a Stadia version of the Definitive Edition launching with the new streaming platform later next month.

Like most post-launch collected editions, Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition includes the base game, all seven post-launche DLCs, which gives players access to every challenge tomb, downloadable weapon, outfit, and skill. So it is the complete version of the game, which closes out Lara Croft’s origin story in an incredibly dramatic fashion, since it includes the Mayan Apocalypse as a plot device. It is the darkest story in the revamped Tomb Raider series, as it sees Lara kick off the apocalypse herself, rather than showing her fixing Trinity’s mistakes.

The base game launched September 14, 2018 and featured the largest tombs in the history of the Tomb Raider franchise. It received mostly positive reviews, and the post-launch DLC added new features to the game, like the ability to enter tombs in co-op. Naturally, the Definitive Edition will include the co-op tombs, plus all the other extras added post-launch.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition will release on November 5, 2019.
