Security system salesman, James Sandin, played by Ethan Hawke is getting a revive in the season 2 finale of USA Network’s series The Purge.
Hawke starred in the 2013 blockbuster ‘The Purge’ as a salesman whose security systems specialized on keeping unwanted guests out of your house on Purge night.
For those who have never heard of ‘The Purge’ – it’s an annual 12-hour window in which all crime is legal – so for all the psycho’s out there, it’s time to don a mask and get your murder on.
Unfortunately, Hawke’s character met his demise while trying to protect his family six-and-a-half-years ago, but the series has thrown James Sandin a resurrection of sorts.
According to USA, his flashback cameo appearance is set a week before the first purge and features the first time his security system is tested.
The original movie grossed $89 million at the box office and spawned three more feature films which were produced by Blumhouse Productions and Platinum Dunes.
The Purge series was created by James DeMonaco who also wrote the four films and directed the first three films before Gerard McMurry took over for the fourth instalment (which was a prequel).
In total, the franchise amassed a smooth $284 million dollars so it wasn’t really a surprise when they announced that The Purge would become an on-going series.
According to a synopsis from the producers, the finale “picks up as Purge Night rages on and Esme (Paola Nunez), Ryan (Max Martini), Marcus (Derek Luke) and Ben (Joel Allen) fight for their lives and their loved ones.”
The season 2 finale is titled “7:01 AM” and airs December 17 at 9 p.m. ET.
