Today, out of the blue, Apple revealed its new 13-Inch Macbook Pro, featuring Intel 10th Gen processors and the Magic Keyboard. Starting at $1,699, the new MacBook Pro offers up the newest Intel chips, featuring better graphics, faster memory, and more storage. While on paper it is a minor spec bump, this move also eliminates the last laptop that featured the Butterfly keyboard, finally ensuring any option you buy, you will find the far-Superior Magic Keyboard.

As with past models, the 13-inch MacBook Pro, Apple is sticking with the two Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C connectors, with options for two or four depending on the configuration. The Touch Bar remains an option for those who want the high-end model, along with Touch-ID, and an Esc key for those that demand physical keys for their daily work.

Looking at the configuration options, the 13-inch MacBook Pro offers up to 32GB of RAM, with the potential of up to 4TB of storage via SSD. The new 10th-generation quad-core Intel Core processors with Turbo Boost speeds of up to 4.1GHz boast integrated Intel Iris Plus, and according to Apple, this will offer the potential of up to 80% faster performance and allow users to connect a Pro Display XDR at full 6K resolution.

“Whether you’re a college student, a developer, or a creative pro, the 13-inch MacBook Pro delivers powerful performance, a stunning Retina display, and all-day battery life in our most portable pro notebook. Today we’re adding the new Magic Keyboard, doubling the standard storage, and boosting performance, making the 13-inch MacBook Pro an even better value for our customers,” said Tom Boger, Apple’s senior director of Mac and iPad Product Marketing. “With these updates, our entire notebook lineup features the Magic Keyboard for the best typing experience ever on a Mac notebook, offers twice the standard storage than before, and delivers even more performance.”

The base $1699.00 CAD model while does feature 256GB of storage, and Touch Bar and Touch ID, it does lack the new Intel 10th Gen chips. You will have to move up to at least the $2399 model to take advantage of the new CPU’s, although all the specs and storage have been upped throughout the lineup, making it a better value overall no mater what computer you choose to buy.

The new models are currently available via Apples website and it is said will arrived in select “Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Resellers later this week.” Educational pricing is available, with students able to buy the base model laptop for $1,569.
