Razer, known for their gaming peripherals and laptops, announced today their new THX-certified wireless Razer Opus headphones. These new over-the-hear headphones feature both THX and hybrid Active Noise Cancellation to deliver clean, crisp audio free from background noise or interference.

With more streaming services opting for high-definition audio as an option, the need for headphones that can deliver that sound is important. While the headphones that came with your phone, or your workout Bluetooth headphones may work in a pinch, if you want clear, high-definition audio, over-the-ear headphones are the way to go. To this end, Razer has built the Opus with this in mind, utilizing Active Noise Cancellation that features “four dedicated ANC microphones designed to accurately tune out a broad range of external frequencies.”

“Even with our many years of experience in creating headsets for one of the most demanding audiences in the world, the design of the Razer Opus required us to rethink every detail,” said Alvin Cheung, Senior Vice President of Razer’s Peripherals Business Unit. “With the Razer Opus headphones, we are able to deliver a listening experience that will satisfy even the most discerning audiophile, in any environment.”

Razer Opus are light-weight and feature plush leatherette foam ear cushions to make wearing the headphones even for long periods of time easy and comfortable. The battery is said to deliver 25hours with ANC on, so you can enjoy the music and audio without needing to worry about running out of juice during the day. The Razer Opus also features Quick Attention Mode when you need to hear the outside world, and optional 3.5mm analogue input making the headphones great for all listening occasions.

The Razer Opus can be purchased from Amazon, Razer.com and select retails, and will retail for $199.99 USD.
