Bungie’s 2017 first-person shooter Destiny 2 is getting additional support from the studio up until 2022, while the studio promised current owners free upgrades to its PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions after paying one price before.

In the game’s latest reveal stream, three year’s worth of seasonal content were announced, starting with Beyond Light which would add a new expansion for Season 11. Players won’t get to access a few planets in favour of some new locations filled with Leviathan raids and story lore. After Beyond Light, the game would get The Witch Queen in 2021 and Lightfall in 2022.

While not much details were given for the last two expansions, Beyond Light sees guardians working with characters like Exo Stranger, Eris Morn and The Drifter in missions amid a war between The Darkness. The faction is also tied to House Eramis, who will be fighting players in the expansion.

According to The Verge, the Witch Queen expansion has been hinted at by character Savathun, who is expected to the main antagonist of this expansion. Guardians could likely be taking her down for good after surviving the events of The Taken King. For Lightfall, Guardians might be facing a universe-shattering event against the Darkness, who could be taking over the light which powers Destiny 2‘s technology and special abilities for players.

Beyond Light is coming to all supporting systems on September 22, 2020 while the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of Destiny 2 are set to come out shortly after their system’s holiday releases later this year.
