Spider-Man 3: Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield Reportedly Appearing

Third Spidey Might Have Three Spideys

Spider-Man 3: Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield Reportedly Appearing 1

The first two Spider-Man actors might be putting their suits on one more time as they are reportedly joining Tom Holland in the third MCU film after Far From Home.

According to We Got This Covered and FandomWire, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire have both spoke to Marvel Studios following the confirmed news of Jamie Foxx reprising his role as Electro from Sony’s universe. Now, it’s suggested the third Spider-Man film will include connections between the MCU and the Sony universe, which featured the original live action series and The Amazing Spider-Man.

The alleged synopsis, which should taken with a grain of the finest Himalayan pink salt, covers the three live action Spider-Men teaming up to defeat villains from their timelines. This would include Holland getting to enter different multiverses as he tries to clear his name after his identity was exposed by Mysterio and J. Jonah Jameson at the end of Far From Home. It’s also the final film for Holland’s trilogy, suggesting Marvel is going all-out in making his exit a smashing one. This could also fit Jamie Foxx’s role as Electro, where he could return as a villain from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and join the Sinister Six from Garfield’s universe.

Geekosity further corroborated the talks with Maguire returning as Spider-Man, though it’s still unconfirmed by Marvel, Sony or Disney on a live-action crossover film. The scope also varies from Maguire and Garfield returning in starring roles or cameo appearances in Marvel’s signature post-credit scenes which can be plot-changing.

Marvel Studios is reportedly starting production on Spider Man 3 later this year, with filming and an eventual trailer expected for 2021.
