MegaDev GmbH, developers of the single-player game experience customization platform PLITCH, have announced that they have secured Series A funding, receiving an additional $1.9 million.

The company’s group of private investors includes Engelhardt Kaupp Kiefer & Co—early investors in ESL, the world’s largest esports company—and Ritter Sport CEO Andreas Ronken.

PLITCH is an intuitive, all-in-one trainer software that allows gamers to easily tailor over 2,500 PC titles to suit their preferences and optimize their single-player game experience. By giving members complete control over their single-player experience, the service helps train for overall game prowess by increasing game challenges, or makes tedious aspects easier to surpass.

This new funding will help establish PLITCH as the global standard for gaming experience customization, and to more broadly popularize the use of trainers and mods for single-player games, enhancing their longevity and optimizing gamers’ experience.

“Our focus is on further scaling our PLITCH platform, which is already used by hundreds of thousands of gamers,” said MegaDev Managing Director and co-founder Robert Maroschik. “We see a great opportunity for immense growth in an underserved market; as our team’s combination of technical ability and understanding of gamers’ needs will enable us to open up new territories and further enhance our already impressively innovative technology. We are pleased that our investors, old and new, share our vision and will give us an infusion of knowledge and extensive expertise that will help us to grow and expand internationally.”

“Nowadays, gamers range from schoolchildren to full-time professionals. From the point of view of game developers, it is almost impossible to create the perfect gaming experience for everyone,” said Engelhardt Kaupp Kiefer & Co analyst Moritz Reck. “PLITCH overcomes that challenge by unlocking hidden game features, saving players time, reducing frustration, and making games more enjoyable on an individual basis.”

“As with the ESL, we see the opportunity for PLITCH to revolutionize the gaming world.”

Several hundred thousand gamers, and counting, have already joined PLITCH’s subscription model. Megadev’s platform offers a safe and ethical game training software option, as its unique firewall, the PLITCH Gateway, ensures its gaming experience customizations cannot be used in multiplayer modes. This malware-free alternative is supported by a variety of platforms, including Steam, Origin, and GoG.
