Indonesia gets some sleek Marvel gear with the release of the Reno5 Marvel Edition. Today the fandom inspired cell phone hits the market and as a fan in Canada, I’m a little jealous. The phone’s predecessor, the Oppo F11 Pro Marvel’s Avengers Limited Edition was released in 2019 and rumours of the Marvel Edition have been swirling around the internet ever since.
The Reno5 Marvel Edition is based on the Reno5 4G the company launched in December 2020. The phone features “a 6.4-inch full HD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000+ chipset, up to 12GB RAM, 256GB inbuilt storage, 4,350mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging and quad camera setup with 64-megapixel primary sensor.” But the most unique thing about the Marvel Edition is that it won’t be available for sale for everyone. A special code will be available exclusively on tokopedia and will be the only way to purchase the limited edition device.
The sleek design of this Marvel Edition is impressive. With an overall black finish, the phone features silver, black and red designs surrounding The Avengers logo. The device comes with its own red protective case featuring the Marvel logo as well. All the extras will be branded too, including the headset, packaging and sim ejector. This is a change from the F11 Pro Marvel’s Avengers Limited Edition which only had branding on the case and phone itself.
According to gizmochina.com “The phone will become available on March 15 (Monday) and it will cost IDR 5,700,000 (~$395). This is slightly more than the regular phone (IDR 5,000,000). The phones will be sold exclusively through Tokopedia but intending buyers will need a unique code to buy an Oppo Reno5 Marvel Edition.”
Apparently buyers will need to follow specific Instagram accounts to find the codes for the device. I can imagine fans will be busy on the social media platform as the number of codes are limited. OPPO’s Reno5 Marvel Edition launches today, March 15, in Indonesia exclusively at tokopedia.
