The Definitive Edition of award-winning RPG, Divinity Original Sin 2 is now available on iPad and iPad Pro.
The process to bring a one-to-one experience on PC and consoles to iOS took Saint Petersburg-based developer, Elverils, nearly two years. The hope of the iOS release was to release the game on hardware capable devices that can handle the true Divinity experience without taking quality or features from the overall package.
Divinity Original Sin 2 on iOS offers a premium AAA experience that takes advantage of the newest Apple hardware with dynamic lighting and shadows and over 8000 shaders. The on-the-go version of Divinity Original Sin 2 doesn’t just feature touch controls and a new UI for mobile and but also supports other ways to play the game including gamepads like the PS5 DualSense, as well as mouse and keyboard. The ambition of the game on mobile wasn’t just given to gameplay but the graphics as well. On iPad Pro (2018) and above, Divinity Original Sin 2 will run the equivalent of ‘highest’ in the PC version.
Players who have a 2021 iPad Pro (M1) can look forward to running the game at 60 fps. The game also features local, seamless split-screen and drop-in/drop-out co-op with up to four players. Players can also look forward to crossplay with PC, Mac and iPad users plus cross-save progression, so you can pick up the game from where you last left it on other supported platforms. If you’ve never played, Divinity Original Sin 2, it is an in-depth RPG with an open-world experience where you use your undead bone finger to lockpick your jail cell and break out Prison Break-style. Along the way you have ghostly conversations with people that you may or may not have killed. The game features no loading screens with seamless in-world turn-based combat, plus hundreds of skills and abilities. The game launched on PC in 2017, PS4 and Xbox One in 2018 and Mac and Switch in 2019.
Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition‘s premium mobile experience is now available for iPad and iPad Pro devices for $24.99 USD, which includes no microtransactions, no ads and all Gift Bag DLCs.
