Summer Game Fest Officially Begins This June

Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest last year was filled with announcements and reveals for what to expect from various publishers and developers, and it looks like this year’s fest will be even bigger.

It was officially announced today that Summer Game Fest will officially begin on June 10, 2021 starting at 11am PT / 2pm ET / 6pm GMT. The show will of course be hosted by the one and only Canadian gaming legend Geoff Keighley, and will also feature performances from Weezer, Green Day, and Fall Out Boy. The event also announced many of it’s partners, with more to be announced in the future. For now, the listed partners include: 2K, Activision, Amazon Games, Annapurna Interactive, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Battlestate Games, Blizzard Entertainment, CAPCOM, Devolver Digital, Dotemu, Electronic Arts, Epic Games, Finji, Frontier, Gearbox Publishing, Hi-Rez Studios, Inner Sloth, Koch Media, Mediatonic, MiHoYo, PlayStation, Psyonix, Raw Fury, Riot Games, Saber Interactive, SEGA, Steam, SQUARE ENIX, Tribeca Festival, Tencent Games, Warner Bros. Games, Ubisoft, Wizards of the Coast and Xbox.

There will also be a new addition to the show called Days of the Devs, which is a in-depth showcase of new independent games produced and curated by iam8bit and Double Fine Productions. “The Day of Devs team handpicked the best of the games and performances from hundreds of submissions from all around the world. What they’ve put together is, for the ninth year in a row, an incredibly inspiring celebration of gaming’s creative spirit.”

The first event will be a live showing on its opening day, though the exact dates for programming beyond that are currently not known. You can sign up for all the latest updates at the official website for Summer Game Fest.
