Rugrats 30th Anniversary Kicks Off With New “Search for the Losted Toys” Escape Room

We Can't Let Angelica Win!

Rugrats 30th Anniversary Kicks Off With New “Search for the Losted Toys” Escape Room 2

Rugrats has been a part of countless childhoods, with the name Angelica making us cringe, or Tommy invoking sweet, loveable feelings. This year is the 30th anniversary of our beloved cartoon and The Escape game, partnered with ViacomCBS, has brought us the “Search for the Losted Toys”, a Rugrats-themed escape room!

CGM got a chance to join in the fun virtually, which was a wild experience to say the least. We jumped into a Zoom call with our guide. three complete strangers and our “Babysitter” who would be our eyes and ears inside the escape room. I thought we would be in a virtual room, a point and click scenario. But instead, we got to tell a real human where to go and what to do and he could speak and interact with us as we went.

“I would highly recommend this experience, both as a Rugrats fan, and an escape room fan in general.”

It took us a while to get going. Everyone wanted to be polite and not talk over each other, I imagine that won’t be as big an issue when you join the game with friends and family rather than people you’ve never spoken to before. Perhaps the strangest thing to get used to was telling a grown man where to look, or dig or move. The good news is, the more clues you find, the more excited you get. By the end I had no issues yelling “RUN, BABYSITTER, RUN!”

The “Search for the Losted Toys” was a blast. It was an hour long, and we did, in fact, escape. Along the way to victory we were reminded of old favourites like Grandpa, Angelica’s horrifying doll and everyone’s favourite pal Spike. I would highly recommend this experience, both as a Rugrats fan, and an escape room fan in general.

In person experiences are available in Las Vegas on June 18, 2021, and King of Prussia on June 14, 2021 with tickets on sale now. The In-person games can host up to 12 players, and Remote Adventures can accommodated four to eight players. Sign up for this new and exciting experience before it’s too late, and the Rugrats-themed escape room will disappear on January 2, 2022. Don’t wait, because “the whole world is a big adventure waitin’ to be ‘splored!”
