Pixels & Ink Podcast: Episode 363

On this week’s Pixels & Ink Podcast: Brendan, Chris, Dayna and Jordan slowly lose their minds as they endure a week-long heat wave, but that wont stop them from delivering a quality podcast.

To start, the gang talks about Gamescom 2021—a thing they watched, but didn’t quite seem to register. Jordan talks a little Midnight Suns and has mixed thoughts on the Saints Row reboot. The gang talks about the “Awesome Indies” showcase and some of the neat looking games coming out.

Afterwards, Chris talks about Bungie’s Destiny showcase and highlights some of the interesting new content heading to Destiny 2. But the main event to talk about is definitely the Spiderman: No Way Home trailer that released after someone leaked set photos and the trailer itself online. The gang talks about their thoughts on the trailer, and speculate a bit on what the movie might contain—Jordan stands up for Spider Man 3. The gang also talks about Fortnite’s “March Through Time,” an interactive tour through Dr. Martin Luthor King’s “I have a dream,” speech, that has been receiving mixed reactions.

To bring the podcast to a close, Dayna talks about her new Polk Sound Bar, Vacation Friends, and Jordan talks a little about Netlfix’s Vivo,  Fantastic Fungi, and a possible Fortnite content leak.

About the Castors:

  • Brendan Frye: Editor-in-Chief of CGMagazine, Brendan is as snarky as he is seasoned in the gaming industry. With over a decade working as a journalist and EIC, he has covered festivals and conferences, interviewed the industry’s biggest names, and is always excited to see how the medium changes with new technology and fresh voices.
  • Jordan Biordi: Writer, Editor, and part-time Ninja; when he’s not busy combating the forces of evil, he’s writing articles and making videos on the hilariously mediocre Youtube channel: Ninja-Jordan Reviews.
  • Chris De Hoog: A writer and podcaster from Ontario, Chris discovered roleplaying games with Final Fantasy on the NES and has been overthinking them ever since. When he’s not obsessing over Star Wars, you can find him steaming at twitch.tv/guildtwotaps
  • Dayna Eileen: a long time serial gamer, mom of two, aunt to many; she absolutely loves introducing the people she knows to her love for games and nerd culture. You can find her on Instagram and Twitter as @Cahlayna
