Pixels & Ink Podcast: Episode 364

In this week’s Pixels & Ink Podcast: Brendan, Chris, Dayna, and Jordan get together after a two-week absence (we were really busy with TIFF and playing video games).

To kick off the podcast, the gang talks about the tragic passing of Canadian comedy legend: Norm Macdonald—our introduction to him and his dead-pan style, and the legacy he leaves behind. Moving on from that, the gang talks a little about Ikea’s push to organize some of it’s furniture into a “gamer” section. It’s weird, but probably inevitable.

Afterwards, Brendan makes the mistake of getting Jordan to talk about Undertale, and more specifically, the surprise announcement of Deltarune Chapter 2. Dayna was unaware of Jordan’s love of the game, so he spends a bit of time rambling about that. Moving on from that, the podcast gang talks about the Playstation Showcase and all the exciting games that were announced.

To bring the podcast to a close, Brendan and Dayna talk about some of the films they saw at TIFF, Chris shares his thoughts on Star Wars Visions, and Jordan played Lost in Random and a bit of Aragami 2.

About the Castors:

  • Brendan Frye: Editor-in-Chief of CGMagazine, Brendan is as snarky as he is seasoned in the gaming industry. With over a decade working as a journalist and EIC, he has covered festivals and conferences, interviewed the industry’s biggest names, and is always excited to see how the medium changes with new technology and fresh voices.
  • Jordan Biordi: Writer, Editor, and part-time Ninja; when he’s not busy combating the forces of evil, he’s writing articles and making videos on the hilariously mediocre Youtube channel: Ninja-Jordan Reviews.
  • Chris De Hoog: A writer and podcaster from Ontario, Chris discovered roleplaying games with Final Fantasy on the NES and has been overthinking them ever since. When he’s not obsessing over Star Wars, you can find him steaming at twitch.tv/guildtwotaps
  • Dayna Eileen: a long time serial gamer, mom of two, aunt to many; she absolutely loves introducing the people she knows to her love for games and nerd culture. You can find her on Instagram and Twitter as @Cahlayna
