Kickstarter game a hyper-realistic RPG set in medieval Europe

Kickstarter game a hyper-realistic RPG set in medieval Europe 1

Kickstarter is once again the source for a very promising game called Kingdom Come: Deliverance, which is being developed Warhorse Studios.

The Czech Republican studio is comprised of a mighty 30-person team, some of whom have worked on games like ArmA, Crysis 3, Flashpoint, Forza Horizon, and the first two Mafia games. Warhorse Studios is hoping to expand to a 75-person team as the Kickstarter campaign moves forward.

What’s interesting about Deliverance’s concept is the fact that it’s not a medieval-fantasy RPG, but rather a hardcore, realistic single-player game set in medieval Europe. Though you don’t fight dragons or wizards, you will have several options to choose from character wise, and aarray of possibilities for entering any given situation. Perhaps you’d like to bash your way through as a knight, or play the sneak thief, or charm your way to success as a bard.

The three to five square miles the game covers will fill out about 30 hours of gameplay, and the promise of realistic 15th century-style combat is certainly a nice touch. Players will also be able to switch roles throughout the game, so if you fancy going from a bruiser to bard, you’ll feel right at home. Modifiable weapons, relationships with companions, and army building is also going to be included.

The campaign is looking for 300,000 British pounds at the onset. If it’s successful, Kingdom Come: Deliverance will launch on Windows, OS-X and Linux, with a possibility of PS4 and Xbox One ports. There are still 28 days left until the campaign ends. Sound like something you’re interested in? Check out their Kickstarter page.
