Disappointed DC Reader

Superman #712

Apparently, DC decided to put the Grounded arc on hold and resolved to serving up a bowl of dog food this month. Seriously, an entire issue devoted to Krypto. It was Dick and Jane playtime with Spot.

For the past year I have appreciated the ambition and intentions of the Grounded arc of Superman. Introspection and profound moments of Kal-El’s fermented moral plight. Krypto’s separation anxiety and loneliness is one tale that need not fetch my dollar; better told on the back of a cereal box or inside a gum wrapper.

The editor even had the temerity to print an apology on the first page. Knowing what was being peddled to the readers, they did not care. I am sorry DC, I did not enjoy this “lost classic.”
