Herman Miller is known for their chairs and there is a reason why. They have innovated well, and their Aeron chairs are lusted after by many. They have teamed up with Logitech, another great brand known for their tech accessories, to add some flare to their Embody chair and make it the choice for gaming.
The Embody chair was originally designed with a gamut of experts including physicians, and PhD’s in physical therapy and ergonomics. To create this chair, they extended the research to what suits gamers to add features like a different foam to support long hours at play. So how does it work for women?
The first thing to note is that this chair is low profile, lower profile than the racing style gaming chairs discussed in this series. It has a narrow (but not too narrow) back rest and no headrest. Its height adjustability is not at all limiting and will be suitable for a multitude of people, big or small. Unlike the Aeron, the seat base is flat which makes it conducive to hip and thigh width, and multiple leg positions.

But this chair’s selling point isn’t any of that, it’s the backrest. The backrest of this chair is difficult to describe, but once you take a seat in it, you will immediately understand. There is no lumbar knob or rod or rest, it is a complete mechanism that adjusts to your entire spine. Named the Backfit ™, the mechanism adjusts and conforms to your back, supporting the entire body. Pressure is distributed differently to lift weight off difficult spots. Similar technology is in the seat base which is a dream for sore hips and butts.
No more is the greatness evident than in the fact that this chair lacks an upper back or headrest. Initially, it seemed to be missing something, but that is not the case. With the way the backrest supports the entire spine, you are less likely to feel the need to lean forward or back or readjust and want somewhere to move.
Other chairs often require consciously sitting in them properly, but this one moves with you and supports you as you wiggle and squirm.
