The all33

With a design that is forgiving for the average woman’s body type, the all33 is an interesting choice to at home, or while gaming.

The desire for a solid gaming or office chair has always existed, but the demand for the perfect selection certainly skyrocketed as many of us were relegated to working from home. Spending hours working, gaming, and even socializing at our desks, it’s more and more imperative that our chairs are comfortable for our bodies. For many women, the selection of gaming and office chairs often leaves them trying to decipher if they’ll fit into the same chair is those with completely different dimensions. This series will set out to test the best gaming and office chairs for the average woman’s body type. Of course, not all women are built the same, but there are certain considerations many women must make, like hip size and height, this series will test the chairs with all that in mind.

For reference, the tester is about 5”4, 140lbs, wears a 28 waist, and is about average in every dimension. Hopefully, that provides a suitable avatar to contextualize chair dimensions so you can find the best chair for you. Today’s test subject: The all33

YouTube video

The All33 chair was slapped on the map by its appearance on Shark Tank during which Justin Bieber showed up shirtless to peddle the seating device. The promise? The all33 chair is “designed to improve posture, reduce pain, and enhance well-being.” It has a reactive support that essentially means the seat base moves with you to ensure a proper posture, no matter how you squirm. Dripping with celebrity endorsements and all kinds of promises about “sitting athletically” makes this chair seem like a bit of a gag, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t comfortable.

The meat and potatoes of this chair is the seat base, and it does some of what it promises. The small seat base is both shallow and wide and is lined with a comfortable cushion that would appeal to goldilocks. The seat width is about 22.5” and has a 17.5” depth. The tester fit comfortably, with more details on the width contained in the video, but it is worth nothing that the egg-shaped seat will not be forgiving for all sizes. That said, if your body works with the seat, the seat staves of hip pain, even after a full day of working, gaming, and socializing at a desk.

The trade off for this innovative seat base is that the all33 chair does not come with much more adjustability. It can be raised and lowered, said to fit those from 4”11 to 6”1, but the adjustment ends there. There is no headrest, the armrests are stagnant (though they fit the average female frame and were able to be tucked under a desk) and there is no adjustable backrest. The idea is that the seat base replaces any back or lumbar support, so there was no sense of lacking, but the rest will either work for you or it won’t.

The chair comes in fabric as well as faux leather and in three colours. The black upholstery is certainly the sleekest and will blend well in any office space.

The all33 chair is forgiving for the average woman’s body type by suiting several heights and having good amount of space for hips and thighs. It’s innovative seat base helped alleviate hip pain, but the rest of the chair is stagnant and won’t support those who prefer a head rest and certain adjustability. It was comfortable for long periods of play time and certainly answers the “hip pain” call that many make after spending too much time in gaming chairs, so if that is your target issue, this could be the chair for you.
