GTA 5 File Leaks Scrapped References To Bully 2 Among Others

Rockstar Games fans have recently found a program database file for GTA 5, revealing some interesting scrapped plans for the game.

Everyone is excited for GTA 6 since it has officially received its official production announcement and release window. Rockstar Games also announced how much the game would cost, leading to a healthy amount of memes online. Some fans recently discovered new information from the predecessor of the upcoming game. A program database file for GTA 5 has reportedly leaked, which contained some insightful information.

The file held debug and project state information that a debugger can work with, and fans have been using it to uncover traces of code that appear to refer to abandoned concepts. It did not reveal how current the database file was, though. Twitter/X user @billsyliamgta was the first to post the text thread that had a reference to Bully 2, along with other Rockstar Games titles like GTA 4, Midnight Club Los Angeles and Red Dead Redemption 2.

The same user also noted that the file referred to Trevor with a jetpack, which was evidence of the game’s planned story DLC that never happened. Of course, players would have seen parts of this through the GTA 5 Online missions like the Doomsday Heist.

@GlowDevs was another Twitter/X user who saw the references to “CNC,” which was a planned Cops ‘n’ Crooks mode. The official title of the game mode was never officially confirmed, but Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier described it last year. He said it was going to split players into police officers and criminals. However, the plan was silently scrapped following the murder of George Floyd by a police officer in 2020.

CGMagazine reported back in August on how Bully 2 and 3 were scrapped in favour of the Red Dead Redemption games. Despite a working script and some outlines being made in 2008, the project never really pushed forward. While fans of the Bullworth Academy boarding school game continue to be disappointed, it shows how much Rockstar has been thinking about making references to the iconic cult-followed game. A Bully sequel remains in the shadows yet again. But who knows, maybe GTA 6 will have some Bully references!
