Creative Assembly, best known for their work in real time strategy titles such as Halo Wars 2 and the Total War series, has turned 30 years old.
Creative Assembly has just announced the final playable race being added to Total War: WARHAMMER.
It’s been a long time coming, but after 16 years worth of titles, Sega’s Total War franchise has officially surpassed 20 million copies sold over it’s lifetime. The news comes from Sega’s first quarter earnings, which show the company making a profit of $30 million. This is good news for the company, especially since in their last quarterly earnings meeting Sega announced they were operating with a $93 million loss.

Creative Assembly have officially announced that Total War: WARHAMMER will feature the Assembly Kit and Steam Workshop support on launch, which is set for May 24.
From the email sent out, it was stated that the game would originally not benefit from mod support, but Creative Assembly and Games Workshop have since been working to make this feature a reality.
Upon launch, players will be able to access CA’s Assembly Kit which will give them the tools to create mods and upload them to the Steam Workshop. It is also stated that further functionality will be added to the kit later in the year, including battle map editing.
The DotA 2 team at Valve also announced last week they will be accepting submissions for new treasure with the Total War: WARHAMMER theme.
Imbued with the power of darkness, the Chaos Warriors race pack will be free for anyone who pre-orders or purchases Total War: Warhammer within the first week. The Chaos Warriors are known for their dark arcane arts and their powerful creatures that you can field to decimate your opponent.
