Former Burnout Devs Working on "Crash Mode" Successor 1

Three Fields Entertainment has announced Danger Zone, a spiritual successor to the popular “Crash Mode” feature in the Burnout series of games.

Danger Zone places the players in a fictional crash test facility, which sets up a perfect excuse for vehicular mayhem and destruction.  Danger Zone will utilize the latest Unreal Engine which should allow the game to really push for more over the top and outlandish set pieces and more spontaneous moment to moment gameplay experiences. Danger Zone will launch in May on PlayStation 4 and PC in North America for $12.99 and in the UK for £9.99 and €12.99 in Europe.

Three Fields Entertainment’s previous two games include Dangerous Golf and Lethal VR, released in June and November of last year.  Lethal Golf, in particular, focused heavily on destruction and physics-based gameplay, similar to that of how the original “Crash Mode” worked in the Burnout games.  The new game aims to deliver the same exhilarating and over the top experience that popularized Burnout ever since the introduction of “Crash Mode” in Burnout 2: Point of Impact all the way back in 2002.

Three Fields Entertainment is composed mostly of ex-Criterion developers, the people minds the Burnout franchise, so it is fitting that they are aiming their sights on a spiritual successor to the beloved racing franchise.
