Maximum Games announces sequel to The Golf Club with new trailer 1

In partnership with developer HB Games, publisher Maximum Games has announced a sequel to the 2014 golf game The Golf Club. The Golf Club 2 is set to release June 27, 2014 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

In a trailer released today by Maximum the publisher focuses primarily on the Course Editor feature that has been improved and developed on since the last entry. There’s a lot of depth here, from choosing what part of the world you want your course to be to how much foliage you want. There’s even an option to place squirrels! And waterfalls!

Dynamic crowds are another addition to the game. If you’re new on the tour, a sparse crowd appears to watch. If you’ve made your way through the ranks a little higher and are playing at a more prestigious event, more people start to show up to watch. It’s a menial detail and it is exclusively cosmetic, but it’s an interesting dynamic.

On top of the course editor, there are a plethora of features included with the game such as a career mode where you can make your way to the top of the rankings. On top of that, you can create or join online groups called “Societies.” If you join a Society you can challenge other groups of players online for money and climb the ranks, representing your Society as you do so.

The game is available now for pre-order for $39.99 and comes with a few bonuses such as a bunch of cash and a gold driver.

This isn’t HB Studios’s only other foray into the Golf Club franchise since the first entry. The Canadian studio has also released The Golf Club VR for Oculus and Vive this past February.

The Golf Club 2 is set to release June 27, 2017 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
