Samsung Reveals Galaxy Note8

The Samsung Galaxy Note8 has officially been announced.

Samsung revealed the latest iteration in their Note series in New York City, the Galaxy Note8. Similarly to the Samsung Galaxy 8, the Note8 features an Infinity Display but larger than the Galaxy S8+, measuring at 6.3 inches. It also features the fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone and an iris scanner. The Galaxy Note8 also includes an improved S-Pen along with what is being described as Samsung’s best-ever smart phone camera. The Galaxy Note8 will launch with Android 7.1 Nougat along with Samsung’s TouchWiz skin.

Samsung’s new Galaxy Note8 will release installed with Bixby, Samsung’s voice assistant system. Designed to make device interaction easier, Bixby voice learns from user commands in order to improve over time. Bixby Voice became available in Canada yesterday and currently works exclusively on the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+.

Samsung’s newest phone will be available in two colors when it launches in Canada, Midnight Black and Deepsea Blue. Both will be available through Samsung Experience Stores and online through Samsung’s official website. Bell, Eastlink, Freedom, MTS, Rogers, Sasktel, Telus, Videotron have all been listed as carriers for the Galaxy Note8. Each will also have the Galaxy Note8 available in stores for purchase as well as online.

In the US, Midnight Black and Orchid Gray colors will be offered. AT&T, C Spire, Cricket Wireless, Sprint, Straight Talk, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile will all be available as carriers.

The Galaxy Note8 will release later this year on September 15 with pre-orders starting now. For those who pre-order in Canada between now and the official release, Samsung is offering a bonus Samsung-branded wireless charger convertible along with an official Samsung 128GB MicroSD card. In America, anyone buying before September 24 will be able to choose a free extra: either a Gear 360 camera or the 128GB card and wireless charger.
