With Batman Day right around the corner, DC Comics announced many details, including a collaboration with FaZe Clan bringing fans limited-edition merchandise.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and of course, that means Batman Day is finally here.
In honor of the caped crusader’s annual celebration, DC Comics has unveiled numerous details to keep Batman fans informed about the latest happenings in and out of the city of Gotham. Notably, DC announced a collaboration with gaming digital lifestyle and media platform, FaZe Clan, on the eve of the annual event.
This collaboration will feature many aspects including DC’s first-ever comic mash-up featuring the Batman himself, and popular FaZe Clan members. On September 24, fans will be able to see favorites such as FaZe Banks, FaZe Apex, FaZe Temperrr, FaZeRain, FaZe Adapt, FaZe Rug, and FaZe Blaze in comic superhero threads for their first foray into comic form.
It doesn’t stop there. Limited edition merch will be available all throughout what DC is calling ‘Batman Month’ in celebration of Gotham’s vigilante. Esports jerseys, T-shirts, hoodies, and many others will be available for fans of the collaboration through the FaZe Clan site, and the DC Comics Shop.
That’s not all of the beans DC spilled regarding Batman Day. BATMAN: THE AUDIO ADVENTURES, a Batman-centered podcast adventure exclusive to HBO Max will be released in a 10-episode installment, with a whole new narrative that sees Batman in a full audio setting. The podcast features a star-studded cast in Jeffrey Wright as Batman, Rosario Dawson as Catwoman, and John Leguizamo as the Riddler. Many other notable Hollywood figures will be participating including Director Emmy-winner Dennis McNicholas (Saturday Night Live) and many other voice acting veterans. Batman: The Audio Adventures will arrive on September 18, Batman Day.
A comic of the aforementioned Batman: The Audio Adventures will be released later in October, making a perfect companion to the episodic series.
Batman: The World, was also revealed to be a Batman Day announcement. To honor Batman’s influence on global culture, this 184-page anthology sees Batman all over the world in new adventures that only the dark knight himself can solve. Featuring many countries and stories to be localized for each territory it is released in. So far, the countries Batman: The World will be localized to are: United States, Brazil, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Spain, and Turkey.
Award-winning comic duo writer Brian Azzarello and artist Lee Bermejo are headlining the massive tome, with a story that sees Batman reflect on all the good he has done in Gotham over the course of his career as the caped crusader. Fans can check out the official English-language trailer here. Exclusive BATMAN: THE WORLD products will premiere in the DC Shop starting September 9, and BATMAN: THE WORLD will release on September 14.
