Genshin Impact is set to launch its 4.5 update, and with it comes exciting new banners (including the teased third banner) and a new five-star Geo unit to add to Genshin fan rosters.
HoYoVerse has torn back the curtain on their latest 4.5 update for Genshin Impact today, and they’ve revealed new banners (including the previously teased Chronicled Wish), new units, and have slapped a March 13, 2024 launch date on it. So fans itching to try and wish for the new five-star Chiori have just under two weeks to save up on Fates before it launches. The special program highlighting the inclusions can be seen below.
Aside from the teased new unit, there are plenty of additions making their way into Genshin Impact for update 4.5. One of the most impactful is the Chronicled Wish. This is a third banner added to the menu that allows fans to gather five-star units (and weapons) at a faster pace than normal. The banner provides a guaranteed five-star with a few caveats:
- The player chooses a five-star (character or weapon), and an RNG coin flip happens. It’s a 50-50 shot of getting what you choose between the two categories.
- After playing the 50-50 once, the second attempt will guarantee your initial choice. Far better odds than basic banner wishing.
- Characters included in the Genshin Impact Chronicled Wish need to have had at least three events wish banners until now and should not have been featured in any recent banners, so newer characters (and unpopular ones) will likely not land in the banner pull rate pool.
- The character pool will cycle every patch.
While the Chronicled Wish almost assures players will attain a five-star character (an exciting prospect for the unlucky), there are many more additions for the 4.5 update.
Genshin Impact Events Introduced in Update 4.5
- Alchemical Ascension – The Knights of Favonius based in Mondstadt are planning to promote their achievements in Alchemy. Participate in this event to receive Primogems, Mora, and the Dialogue of the Desert Sages Polearm. This featured event brings shop-sim mechanics to Genshin Impact for the first time.
- Feline Fortress Furrdyssey – Paimon wants to have some fun playing with cats, so players will need to set up spaces for felines and increase their reputation to earn rewards.
- Rolling Crossfire – The Inventor of the Gardes has come up with a brand new weapon idea and players have been asked to test it (a fun way of saying ‘Lets blast slimes with an elemental cannon!’)
- The Great Fayz Reaction Debate – Jami, the Amurta Researcher has come up with new potion enhancements, so Travelers will have to test combat abilities to prove potion effectiveness.
