The Ryu Ga Gotoku Direct showcased their upcoming titles and they’ve rolled out the red carpet for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth with new trailers, and release dates.
For the first ever western Ryu Ga Gotoku Direct, the company has revealed a wealth of details regarding upcoming releases for fans. Since the announcement trailers of both titles, information has been sparse, but today Ryu Ga Gotoku has filled the void with many exciting features the new titles have.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth Key Features
First up, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth was given an official release date of January 26 and a brand new trailer which can only be watched from their official YouTube. The trailer revealed an Infinite amount of details about the upcoming adventure featuring the last turn-based Yakuza title’s protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga.
- Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth boasts an improvement in all aspects of gameplay following the previous instalment. The turn-based combat has evolved into allowing the playable party full freedom of movement while fighting. This change allows players to incorporate a level of strategy not seen in its predecessor.
- Explore Honolulu, and participate in a variety of activities across the city (treasure hunting under vending machines is not confirmed yet). Help Ichiban make money in the Crazy Delivery mini-game, which is directly inspired by the SEGA classic Crazy Taxi – and much more.
- Danny Trejo joins the cast as Dwight, leader of the nefarious Barracudas, who supervises the delivery of counterfeit goods market in the Like a Dragon world.
- Actor, director, producer, and activist Daniel Dae Kim is cast as the voice of Yakuza Captain, Masataka Ebina.
- Familiar faces have been revealed in the trailer from the previous title on the character screen, and returning retired police officer, Koichi Adachi makes his exciting return. Plus, Ichiban and Kiryu have been teased to meet in the trailer.
Aside from just Infinite Wealth details, Ryu Ga Gotoku released the Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name full opening cinematic for the traditional Kazuma Kiryu experience. The longstanding protagonist fakes his death to secure the safety of his family, and the gameplay opts for a more Ryu Ga Gotoku experience with fast-paced beat-em-up action, instead of the new turn-based system featured in the latest Ichiban adventures.
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name launches on November 9, and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth launches soon after on January 26, 2024. Both will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
