Fans will see Kazuma Kiryu return after the events of Yakuza 6 and see him adopt a new alias ‘Joryu.’ The series returns to its fast-paced beat-em-up style of combat as opposed to the turn-based action seen in Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Executive Producer of Ryo Ga Gotoku Studio, Masayoshi Yokoyama explained Kiryu adopts a new identity to protect his family and friends in The Man Who Erased His Name. Kiryu was shown to be able to switch fighting styles on the fly in the gameplay reveal, swapping between ‘Yakuza’ and ‘Agent’ styles and utilizing different abilities.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth New Details

The trailer of Infinite Wealth, previously revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase, was then shown. The other series protagonist, Kasuga Ichiban was shown waking up on a beach in the U.S. in a compromising scenario. Yokoyama confirmed the scene shown in the trailer is absolutely in the game. Infinite Wealth sees Kazuma Kiryu and Kasuga Ichiban share the protagonist spotlight, and the storyline picks up right after Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
