Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition Leaks Onto The Internet

All That Glitters

Capcom is no stranger to re-releases, and yesterday a listing for Game of the Year nominee Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition spilled out onto the internet before any official announcement.

Just last week Capcom doubled down on Resident Evil remakes following the enormous success they have seen from them, and yesterday a listing for a Resident Evil 4 Remake Gold Edition landed on the internet. The leak was found on ResetEra by user Vito, who found the listing originally on Metacritic (the listing on Metacritic has since been deleted, however). Like other ‘Gold’ bundles, if the Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition truly does exist, it will likely bundle the base game and the Separate Ways DLC in one package, similar to how the recently announced Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition bundles Phantom Liberty with the base game.

The exposed leak on ResetEra also alleges the release date will be on February 9, which is right around the corner. It is surprising, seeing as how the latest Resident Evil 4 and its Separate Ways DLC have both been released for less than a year and a Gold Edition is already being potentially leaked.

Fans have theorized after Resident Evil 4 Director Yasuhiro Anpo confirmed Capcom’s dedication to RE remakes, that the next remake would potentially be Resident Evil: Code Veronica, or even the next numbered entry in the series, Resident Evil 5. Then, Anpo stated, “What game we will remake in the future is something that we would like to announce in the future, so please look forward to it.”

While no official confirmation has been made regarding any future entry in the Resident Evil series including Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition, fans should stay tuned for The Game Awards Opening Night Live tomorrow, considering Resident Evil 4 is nominated for Game of the Year.
