And The Winners Are...

Best Keyboards 2025

What is a PC setup without a keyboard? In a market where almost every component of your set up can be purpose-built, users are absolutely spoiled for choice. Whether it’s for gaming, writing, or simply a means to an end, there is something for everyone. We reviewed a lot of keyboards this year, and with that in mind, we managed to narrow down our Best Keyboards 2025.

Since the term ‘best’ is subjective, there can be a lot of thought that goes into what makes a keyboard the ‘best.’ Whether it’s size, RGB utilization, typing feel, or even just how clicky the keys are, there is something for you on this list. With offerings from SteelSeries, Turtle Beach, Razer, and more, here are our Best Keyboards 2025!

CHERRY XTRFY K5V2 Compact Keyboard

Cherry Xtrfy K5V2 Compact Keyboard Review

Score: 9/10

Something I love about CHERRY is that their keyboards are so customizable, much like Drop keyboards. Many people think of CHERRY as “the switch people,” but they do so much more, including excellent keyboards, mice and even microphones. The CHERRY XTRFY K5V2 Compact keyboard continues the company’s streak as another outstanding addition to its lineup of products.

The CHERRY XTRFY K5V2 Compact Keyboard would be ideal for gamers on the go, provided they are happy with a wired connection. With no battery life to worry about, the K5V2 is the perfect size to throw in a bag and take on the go, and without the need for software, you can get up and running anywhere you might be without any hassle (or programs like Razer Synapse trying to take over your PC).

I was pleasantly surprised with the K5V2, so much so that I threw it in my purse to take to the office to show off. That is a great sign for CHERRY and a clear sign that I am a nerd. The CHERRY XTRFY K5V2 Compact Keyboard’s base model comes in at a reasonable $139.99, offers plenty of customization if you want it, and provides a hassle-free, software-free experience that doesn’t sacrifice performance or style to do so.

The CHERRY XTRFY K5V2 Compact Keyboard impressed by providing a comfortable, full-featured, stylish keyboard, that is easy to use, even with its compact size and lack of software.

HyperX Alloy Rise 75 Wireless Keyboard

Hyperx Alloy Rise 75 Wireless Keyboard Review

Score: 9/10

The second you open the HyperX Alloy Rise 75 box, you can tell it’s a high-grade keyboard. The frame has a sleek, minimalistic design with a brushed aluminum top plate that looks great on any desk setup. The keyboard is compact, which is ideal for people who prefer a smaller footprint without sacrificing key functionality.

The Alloy Rise 75 Wireless fully utilizes its wireless capabilities with a smooth and reliable connection. It supports both Bluetooth and HyperX’s proprietary 2.4 GHz wireless connection, offering great flexibility. The Bluetooth functionality is also great for those who want to connect the keyboard to their tablets, phones, or laptops without wires. Pairing the keyboard is straightforward, and since I’ve had it connected this way, I haven’t experienced a single dropout or input delay.

Regarding the typing experience, the Alloy Rise 75 Wireless has a comfortable layout, being 75%, making all the keys accessible within comfortable reach. The key switches feel smooth and responsive, making long typing sessions less tiring. I’ve typed for hours without experiencing any strain, and the spacing between the keys feels perfect. One of the settings in the app lets you block off certain keys in case you are working within Photoshop or even gaming to make sure you don’t hit some crucial keys.

The HyperX Alloy Rise 75 Wireless Keyboard is a groundbreaking wireless keyboard with its incredible battery life, customization options, and a tactile feel.

Turtle Beach Vulcan II TKL Pro Keyboard

Turtle Beach Vulcan Ii Tkl Pro Review

Score: 9.5/10

The Vulcan II TKL Pro is a beast for gaming (it makes the ROCCAT brand proud), but it is also a dream keyboard for writers who have heavy fingers. Straight out of the package, the Vulcan II TKL Pro almost glows in its ghostly white colourway, and it hasn’t been plugged in yet. This time around, Turtle Beach includes a 5-foot, 9-inch USB-A to USB-C cable, the Vulcan II TKL Pro itself, a quick start guide, and a palm rest for a weary traveller.

I can’t get over how visually stunning the Vulcan II TKL Pro is. The face of the keyboard is littered with T-shaped ABS keycaps, which makes it easy to swap, mix, match, and customize your Vulcan II TKL Pro to the utmost potential. This makes the Vulcan II compatible with other popular companies like Drops and Kono, which are known for building quality customizable keycaps.

The Turtle Beach Vulcan II TKL Pro is the best keyboard I’ve ever used. Besides all the advanced functionality, if a user just doesn’t want to use the secondary software with the keyboard, just don’t. Turtle Beach went back to the drawing board and made key presses much quieter, and even added a splash of colour to the board when a key is pressed.  The keyboard’s switches come pre-lubed to provide the most seamless experience.

The Turtle Beach Vulcan II TKL Pro is a gamer/writer’s dream and is the easiest recommendation to people who use keyboards.

Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Keyboard

Best Keyboards 2025

Score: 9.5/10

For years, Razer has been the keyboard of choice for many eSports players, and for good reason. They have managed to innovate in major ways when it comes to gaming peripherals, leading the way in a number of categories. With the Huntsman V3 Pro, they’ve taken another leap forward, making one of the most responsive keyboards I have ever used. With small refinements and an already solid foundation, Razer has delivered a fantastic offering that is ready for the tournament and the home office.

At the heart of the Huntsman V3 Pro are Razer’s new Analog Optical Switches Gen-2. These switches are the secret sauce that enables many of the keyboard’s standout features. They allow for customizable actuation points, meaning you can set how far you need to press a key before it registers. This level of customization is a game-changer, letting you fine-tune your keyboard to your exact preferences.

While gaming is clearly the focus, the Huntsman V3 Pro is no slouch when it comes to typing. The double-shot PBT keycaps feel great under your fingers and should resist wear and tear over time. The switches have a smooth, consistent feel that’s comfortable for long typing sessions. It is great to type on, and the responsiveness of the keys makes for a very accurate and pleasant typing experience. Few keyboards come close, and I say that because I am using the keyboard to write this review.

The Razer Huntsman V3 Pro sets a new standard for gaming keyboards, combining advanced technology with a refined user experience.

SteelSeries Apex Pro Gen 3 TKL Keyboard

Steelseries Apex Pro Gen 3 Keyboard Review

Score: 9.5/10

Included in the box, users will receive the SteelSeries Apex PRO keyboard itself, a long USB-C cable and a sturdy magnetic wrist wrest that snaps onto the device with ease. From its weighted feel to its sleek OLED screen and exceptionally smooth and tactile feel, the SteelSeries Apex Pro Gen 3 is one of the best keyboards I’ve ever typed on. Available in both full size, and TKL (including wireless), the Apex Pro Gen 3’s key selling point is easily its hall-effect Ominpoint 3.0 mechanical switches.

Setting up custom keystrokes, macros, RGB, and OLED settings are all done through the SteelSeries GG/Engine app, which makes it easy to change settings quickly. The SteelSeries app offers a healthy amount of interesting RGB effects, but what drew my attention was how easy it was to quickly manage and turn off the lights on individual keys or whole sections of the keyboard. This was thanks to the intuitive software, which allows the user to simply drag boxes across the keyboard to select areas to tweak quickly.

Outside of a cool but ultimately gimmicky display, the tiny OLED screen on the SteelSeries can also show some more helpful information, such as Discord notifications and Spotify track information. Long pressing the glowing key just under the volume track wheel button to the right of the keyboard opens up the config menu for the OLED display, which, although a little clunky, makes it possible to quickly change profiles without having to open up the SteelSeries app.

The SteelSeries Apex PRO Gen 3 is my new favourite keyboard. It offers a great feel and feature set worth the premium price tag.
