However, there are so many out there to choose from. That’s why we at CGMagazine have put together our Best Robot Vacuums 2025 to point you in the right direction when kicking off the year!
There are so many companies out there that make robot vacuums and mops, and all of them boast that they are the best at what they do. Though iRobot was always a major player, this year, we have checked out companies like Narwal, Shark, YEEDI and Roborock that all bring a lot to the table we can appreciate. Below, we are sharing excerpts from our favourite robot vacuum and mop reviews this year, to name our Best Robot Vacuums 2025!
Eureka E20 Plus Robot Vacuum
Eureka has made remarkable enhancements with this year’s E20 Plus. During my hands-on testing of the E20 Plus, it quickly became apparent that Eureka has meticulously refined and improved nearly every aspect of the previous model. Each feature appears to have been thoughtfully considered and upgraded, giving the E20 Plus an overall polished look.
When it came to navigating the house, Eureka has built in a plethora of functionality to make the E20 Plus more efficient and smart, generally eliminating the need for you to free it from places where it got stuck. Like their top-of-the-line model, Eureka has built in their DuoDetect AI 3D Obstacle Avoidance technology, which serves as the eyes of the Eureka E20 Plus. This allows it to easily navigate your house (or office) and avoid running into chairs, sofas, or even pets that could be lying on the floor in the way. Even dark spaces like under a bed or sofa are no match for the E20 Plus, meaning you could have it clean your house while you sleep.
I was fairly impressed with everything Eureka packed into the relatively compact Eureka E20 Plus. While it does have its quirks and may not replace a human in terms of vacuuming quality, it does an adequate job at cleaning. You may occasionally need to go over a few spots it misses, but for the added convenience of having potentially one less task to worry about during your busy schedule, I feel Eureka has knocked this one out of the park.

Roborock S8 Robot Vacuum
The S8 is surprisingly compact, considering its powerful cleaning capabilities. It is only 353 mm deep and 96.5 mm tall, making it easy to maneuver under furniture and in tight spaces. Despite its small size, the S8 feels sturdy and well-constructed, with high-quality materials that should withstand the rigours of daily use. I have used a lot of vacuums like this, so it is fantastic to see one that is so well designed while offering features that set it apart from the competition.
The S8’s advanced LiDAR navigation system is a key factor in its cleaning prowess. Using lasers to map out your home, the S8 can efficiently clean every nook and cranny while avoiding obstacles and drop-offs. You can even set up virtual no-go zones in the app to keep the S8 out of certain areas, like a child’s play area or a pet’s food bowl. While there are plenty of robot vacuums that promise obstacle avoidance, this was the first one that delivered on that promise perfectly. In my time testing the little guy, I have not had to rescue it from getting stuck once.
The Roborock S8 robot vacuum is a top-of-the-line cleaning solution that delivers on all fronts. Its sleek design, powerful suction, and intelligent navigation make it a standout in the crowded robot vacuum market. The S8’s advanced features, like automatic emptying, multi-floor mapping, and voice assistant compatibility, elevate it from a mere cleaning tool to a true smart home device. If you really want to dive into what the Roborock S8 range can offer, the Roborock S8 Ultra is a complete solution, and while it will set you back 1,599.99, it also includes a base that it can empty into and will allow for self-cleaning and refilling.

Shark Matrix Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum
The absolute best thing about the Shark Matrix is the ability to schedule cleanings in the app. We have the vacuum set to clean the entire home every other day. It’s as simple as selecting the days and the time you want it to start and then leaving it alone. So, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9:30 AM, the vacuum begins its job and generally returns to the base around 10:05 AM. It’s a very quick process and does an excellent job of keeping the floors of the home free from dust and debris.
The Shark Matrix gets its name from a fantastic feature called Matrix Clean. Matrix Clean is activated through the app; you select an area on your home map for the vacuum to clean, and it performs a deeper cleaning on that area using a grid pattern to ensure maximum dirt and debris pickup. The issue with this feature is that it cannot be scheduled or programmed ahead of time, so you must manually initiate it in the app each time you want the process to begin.
All told, the Shark Matrix self-emptying robot vacuum is a great addition to our home, I just wish it had a few quality-of-life features added to the app. Coming in at $479.99 CAD, the Shark Matrix isn’t all that expensive, especially when compared to other options from iRobot and more. I can definitely recommend the vacuum for the average home as it performs its job brilliantly and quickly.
The Shark Matrix vacuum provides a great way to keep the house clean day-to-day but is missing a couple of quality-of-life features that would make it an essential part of the home.

Yeedi M12 Pro+ Wet/Dry Robot Vacuum Review
The M12 Pro+ vacuum offers four levels of suction, which are selectable through the app: Quiet Mode, Standard, Strong, and Max, in that order. As expected, Quiet Mode provides the least suction, ideal for light cleaning when there’s loose debris on tile or hardwood floors. As you move up through the suction levels, reaching up to 11,000Pa (pascals) of suction power at Max, the vacuum gets progressively louder. However, this becomes a non-issue if you schedule the Strong or Max cleaning modes for when you’re out of the house.
The Yeedi M12 Pro+ vacuum features a 5200 mAh battery that will give you roughly 220 minutes of sweeping and vacuuming time on hard floor surfaces on the Standard level of suction. Given that the average cleaning time for my daily clean scheduled event is around 45 minutes, I’d say the battery life in the M12 Pro+ is extraordinary, allowing it to get near any job done in that time. So unless you’re asking it to do a full vacuum of an Amazon warehouse, you should be just fine.
The M12 Pro+ comes in at $899.99 USD, which is a lot for something you may not even see doing its job. The payoff is that it does such a good job that it’s worth the money. In my home, we have two cats and two small children, and it has no issues keeping up with whatever ends up on the floor, whether it’s pet hair, or a goldfish cracker here and there. It just does a good job and that’s all I can ask for it to do.

Narwal Freo X Plus Robot Vacuum
The Freo X Plus is designed for homeowners who want a hassle-free cleaning solution that works on both hard floors and carpets. Thanks to its powerful suction and tangle-free brush design, it’s particularly suitable for pet owners. The robot’s ability to switch seamlessly between vacuuming and mopping makes it ideal for homes with mixed flooring types, and its smart design choices, such as the way its wheels are structured, mean you will encounter far fewer tangling problems than with other brands.
There is a lot that makes the Narwal Freo X Plus worth looking at, not least its 7800 Pa suction power. Although I had to look into what this means in the real world, this feature puts it on par with many high-end models and ensures thorough cleaning of both hard surfaces and carpets. I was frankly shocked at how well the little robot was able to clean a room that I thought was largely already vacuumed. It managed to pick up a full load of dirt, even after I had vacuumed it with one of the office’s upright vacuum cleaners.
For those considering a robot vacuum, the Narwal Freo X Plus presents a compelling option especially for the price. It offers a balance of powerful cleaning performance, smart features, and convenience at a price point that’s competitive with other mid-range to high-end robot vacuums. While it may not be perfect for every home situation or people who want a fully automated experience, it’s a strong contender for those seeking a versatile, low-maintenance cleaning solution. As the robot vacuum market continues to evolve, the Freo X Plus sets a new standard for what consumers can expect from a mid-range cleaning robot.

It stores clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water to ensure it’s ready to clean your floors, empties the vacuum tank (especially after larger cleaning jobs), and keeps the vacuum charged and clean. While many of these tasks can be done manually with the Freo X Plus (though not the electrolyzing of water), the fact that the base on the Z Ultra automates all of them makes it an incredible convenience that’s hard to deny.
The Narwal Freo Z Ultra uses dual RGB cameras to map and detect obstacles, allowing it to navigate complex spaces with ease. It also uses LiDAR to build a 3D map of your entire space. While this process can take some time to complete, it enables the Narwal Freo Z Ultra to excel at avoiding obstacles and accurately identifying floor types, creating an efficient cleaning path. This means you’ll have far fewer worries about it getting stuck in the environment—something I’ve experienced frequently with other brands of robot vacuums.
After testing everything this little vacuum can do, I can confidently say the Narwal Freo Z Ultra sits at the pinnacle of smart robot vacuum technology and feels very much like the Rolls-Royce of cleaning solutions. Its powerful performance, advanced automation features, and sleek design make it a standout in the market. While there may be areas for improvement in future models, what Narwal has packed into this robot means you won’t need to upgrade for years to come. If you can afford the premium price tag, few cleaning robots even come close.
While it comes with a premium price tag, if you’re looking for one of the best robot vacuums on the market, few can match what the Narwal Freo Z Ultra brings to the table.
