Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood
Summary
Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood continues Ezio Auditore’s saga in Renaissance Italy. Set primarily in Rome, the game expands on the formula established in Assassin’s Creed II. Players once again step into Ezio’s boots as he works to dismantle the corrupt Borgia family’s grip on the city.
The game introduces new mechanics that let Ezio recruit and train a team of assassins. These recruits can be sent on missions across Europe or called upon to assist Ezio in combat. Rome itself is a sprawling playground filled with landmarks to climb and secrets to uncover as you work to restore the city’s former glory.
Combat sees some refinements, with a new execution system that allows for stylish chain kills. There’s a greater emphasis on being proactive rather than waiting to counter-attack. The multiplayer mode is a tense game of cat-and-mouse where players hunt each other in crowded streets.
Brotherhood’s story picks up right after the events of Assassin’s Creed II, continuing both Ezio’s Renaissance adventures and Desmond’s modern-day storyline. While the plot can feel disjointed at times, it delivers more of the historical conspiracy and sci-fi elements fans have come to expect from the series.
