Bulletstorm

Summary

Bulletstorm is a wild ride of a first-person shooter that cranks the action up to eleven. Set in a sci-fi universe, you play as Grayson Hunt, a space pirate with a grudge and a penchant for creative violence. After crash-landing on the resort planet Stygia, now overrun with mutants and criminals, Grayson must fight his way off-world while seeking revenge against his former commander.

The game’s standout feature is its “Skillshot” system, which rewards players for dispatching enemies in increasingly outrageous ways. Kick a baddie into a cactus? Points! Leash an enemy into the air and blast them with your shotgun? Even more points! These points can be used to upgrade weapons and unlock new abilities, encouraging players to get creative with their carnage.

Bulletstorm doesn’t take itself too seriously, with over-the-top dialogue and ridiculous set pieces that wouldn’t be out of place in a B-movie. The game’s humour might not be for everyone, but there’s no denying the sheer fun of its combat. If you’re looking for a shooter that prioritizes spectacle and creativity over realism, Bulletstorm delivers in spades.
