Fans of Pokémon TCG Pocket can look forward to expanding their digital collections with the new Deluxe Pack ex expansion.

Announced on the official Pokémon website, the new Deluxe Pack ex isn’t a brand new collection of cards, rather a randomized collection of previous expansions—from the Genetic Apex line to the current Wisdom of Sea and Sky—with every pack guaranteed to contain one card of four-diamond rarity or higher.

In addition to this, packs may include a new “parallel foil” cards that add a unique shine effect to previous lower-rarity cards, and previously released cards with brand-new artwork. However, it is important to note that this expansion will be timed, running from September 29th, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. EST until October 29th, 2025, at 1:59 p.m. EST. However, it does state within the trailer that the expansion will be made available again in the future.

Although the run won’t be limited just to the previous expansions. A new Raichu ex event will launch alongside the new Booster Packs—although a time has not been specified. Players can look forward to a Raichu ex drop event featuring a new promo card, a Bonus Week event, and a wonder pick event that includes accessories that feature Kanto classics, and more!

Recently, DeNA stated in an investor meeting that they were exploring new ways of “enhancing the collection experience” and maintaining retention, and this looks to be the first way of approaching this. Alongside a drastic change to the game’s trading system that replaced the much-maligned trade currency with the game’s far less useful Stardust. However, its steady drop of new expansions and addressing of the battle systems’ easily abused Meta have made the game much more user-friendly compared to launch.

Pokémon TCG Pocket is available on Android and iOS Devices.
