The Among Us 3D Rebrand Is Official, Schell and Innersloth Expand to Steam

With Among Us 3D, Innersloth and Schell Games are uniting PC and VR players for the ultimate crossplay chaos.

The team-up between Schell Games and Innersloth, the creators of Among Us and Among Us VR, has led to a major announcement: Among Us VR will be making its way to PC. Not only will players be able to join in on the imposter-laden fun via Steam, but Innersloth and Schell Games have also announced that the entire Among Us VR title will be rebranded as Among Us 3D. With this rebranding, the game will be fully cross-play compatible between VR and Steam. A sneak peek teaser trailer for Among Us 3D has also been released and can be viewed below.

Among Us 3D will allow Steam PC users to join cross-platform lobbies with VR players on Meta Quest, Steam VR, PlayStation VR 2 and PICO. The rebranding aims to bring all Among Us players under the same banner with cross-play functionality. Project Director at Schell Games, Ryan Hall, says, “With Among Us 3D, we’re excited to bring the first-person perspective to an even wider audience,” calling the title “more than a game” and concluding, “By uniting VR and PC players, we’re opening up even more ways to brutally betray your friends—your whole crew can get in on the fun!”

Community Director at Innersloth, Victoria Tran, says, “The launch of Among Us VR gave players the chance to step inside the game, bringing an entirely new level of suspense and hilarity to the social deduction experience,” adding, “This cross-play feature strengthens our amazing community, making it easier than ever for players to team up—or backstab each other—regardless of their platform.”

It’s important to note the newly rebranded Among Us 3D will not be compatible with the original 2D variant of Among Us, but all VR variants assuredly are. In addition to crossplay functionality between PC and VR, Among Us 3D will introduce Stardust in a few months. Stardust (not to be confused with Pokemon Go’s currency) is a new currency introduced in Among Us 3D that will allow fans to express themselves fully through their bean-shaped character. Customization features will be expanded on in 3D as well.

Fans can head to the Steam page today to wishlist the newly branded Among Us 3D, and more information can be found on the official website.
