Apex Legends Kicks Off Season 27, Amped, With New A New Map And Gameplay

Kicking off its 27th season, EA announces Apex Legends: Amped, featuring a revamped Olympus map, many character buffs, gameplay updates, and more.

Launching on November 4, 2025, EA and Respawn Entertainment unveil everything that will be arriving in Apex Legends’ 27th season, Amped. As players return to the chaotic hero-shooter game, many new updates await, including a revamped Olympus map with four new Places of Interest, movement updates for mantling and the Trident vehicle, characters buff, and many more.

Released in November 2020, Apex Legends is a Hero Shooter and Battle Royale game, featuring rosters of Legendary Characters with powerful abilities to harness. Working toward fame and glory, players must collaborate with their team to strategize tactics, discover the optimal combinations for their abilities, and utilize their surroundings in various maps to emerge victorious in Battle Royale, as the game is intense and fast-paced. Although the Battle Royale is the core game mode, Apex Legends also offers Wildcard mode and Mixtape mode, rotating between Control, Gun Run, and Team Deathmatch.

The biggest update to arrive at Apex Legends: Amped is the revamped Olympus map, featuring an updated lore and four new POIs (Place of Interest). During the past seasons, Olympus was known for randomly appearing throughout the Outlands, colliding with the Stasis Net on Broken Moon before it could vanish yet again. However, as of now, Olympus has been discovered again in the snows of Pagos, leaving questions regarding its origin, with Mary “Horizon” Sombres believing it is the future version of Olympus that has travelled back in time.

As Horizon and the Syndicate collaborate to restore Olympus to its optimal form by utilizing new gravitational technology to lift it back into the sky, the Apex Game has been relocated from Olympus Prime to this version of Olympus for safety reasons. Unlike its predecessor, the new Olympus features four new POIs. The POIs included are:

  • Somers University – Built by Horizon and honouring her son, Somers, the Somers University is used to explore the mystery of the universe. Replacing the Orbital Cannon with new architecture and high-flying lifts, the relics from the crash site provide insight into this version of Olympus.
  • Gravity Engine – Replacing the Energy Depot as Olympus’ new heart, the Gravity Engine utilizes the Branthium power to help keep the city afloat. As Legends step into the Gravity Engine, they can make use of the lifts, zip rails, and verticality collide.
  • Stabilizer – Replacing the Docks, the Stabilizer is responsible for keeping the Olympus aligned. The rocks floating beneath the planet provide a path to its outer ballast structures.
  • Dockyard – Set near the Hydroponics, the Dockyard combines nostalgic elements from the original Olympus with a new focus on vertical gameplay.

Alongside the updated Olympus map, Apex Legends: Amped will be buffing Valkyrie, Rampart, and Horizon. The buff each Legend will receive is:

  • Valkyrie – Valkyrie VTOL Jets received a speed boost and recharge three times faster, and her Skyward Dive Ultimate has a shorter takeoff time. Additionally, her Missile Swarm Tactical now inflict zero self-damage, has no height restriction, scans enemies on hit, and puts the movement Passives on cooldown. Lastly, her upgrades can expand missile patterns, reduce fuel consumption while improving horizontal speed, and massively boost her Ultimate takeoff time.
  • Rampart – Improving her Amped Cover Tactical, Rampart walls gain health as Evo level increases, provide speed boosts, and include a roof. Additionally, her upgrade now includes fast reloads and infinite ammo when shooting from the Amped Cover, and regenerates wall health out of combat.
  • Horizon – Horizon Gravity Lift Tactical receives a shorter cooldown and lift speed improvements, alongside additional health for Black Hole Ultimate. Her upgrade buffs focus on providing more opportunities for aerial movement, such as fast-fall by crouching mid-air or gliding out of gravity lifts for extended aerial control, and receiving an additional Gravity Lift charge on knockdowns.

Designed to make the Alternator SMG more devastating in Apex Legends: Amped, players will be introduced to the “Double Tap” Hop Up attachment. With the attachment equipped, the Alternator can fire from both barrels at once, causing massive damage at close range.

Focusing on the Movement updates in Apex Legends: Amped, season 27 unveils the Mantle Boost, giving players a forward movement boost when climbing from ledges or walls. Alongside the Mantle Boost, the Trident vehicle received improved collision and dedicated vehicle health, including visual effects.

From November 18 to December 16, the Supersonic Event will introduce many updates arriving in the Wildcard mode. From reaching peak performance in the new Olympus map to speed-bosting through the Wild Card upgrades, here are the updates that players can look forward to during the event:

  • Olympus – A new Wildcard map, focusing on enhancing the performance with more ziplines, gravity cannons, and more ways to take flights and be crowned victorious.
  • Mythic R-99 weapon – Aquiring from Rampart Care Packages, the Mythic R-99 borrows abilities from Valkyrie’s Missile Swarm, and comes with extra movement and zipline speed bonuses.
  • Wild Card upgrades – Burning Rubbers enhances Legends’ speed and leaves fire trails to burn enemies. Extra Zippy replenishes shield and speed boosts on ziplines and ziprails. Eyes in the Sky highlights enemies in the sky, while the Quick and the Dead reveals enemies on the ground. For speed, Get up and the Go provides speed bursts after reviving a teammate in critical moments, and Along for the Slide offers faster, longer slides.
  • Supersonic Event Packs and Apex Packs – Potentially unlock Legendary Skins for Horizon, Crypto, Sparrow, Mirage, and Catalyst, alongside matching weapons in the Supersonic Event Packs—lastly, the Death Duet Universal Melee, a set of duel katanas.
