Arrowhead Gifts Free Killzone 2 Items Following Helldivers 2 Pricing Backlash

Taking The Feedback Quite Well

Helldivers 2 Meets Killzone 2 in First Super Earth Crossover

Arrowhead CEO and CCO responded to the backlash against the pricing of the Helldivers 2 X Killzone 2 cosmetic, apologizing for the steep price and looking for feedback.

Helldivers 2 has received its first crossover DLC with Killzone 2, a Sony FPS game released on the PlayStation 2. With how popular the collaboration could’ve been due to the nostalgia factors and many people hoping for the Killzone franchise to return someday, the game has faced a backlash due to the steep pricing of the bundle. With the complaint arising, Arrowhead CEO, Shams Jorjani, and CCO Johan Pilestedt have released a response to the community backlash and acknowledge the issues.

As the Helldivers 2 x Killzone 2 collaboration dropped yesterday, Pilestedt made a post on Twitter to express his excitement, proud of his teams for nailing the Killzone weapons and being nostalgic. However, some users thought the prices were too high, with a user pointing out his concerns to Pilestedt, and responded to the problem by saying “Sorry you felt the price was steep, we are looking at all feedback. The reason we changed it from a warbond was actually because there were concerns that having a higher priced warbond would carry negative sentiment.”

Arrowhead CEO, Shams Jorjani, has also released a statement on Discord about the Helldivers 2 x Killzone 2 pricing. Jorjani has stated, “Hey, quick comment on the Helghast stuff. Firstly, this is our first collaboration, so we’ll figure it out as we go along. Let us know what you’d like to see in the future. Secondly, it’s optional. The more of this we sell, the more illuminate-type stuff we can keep dropping for free.”

He later clarified that his wording could have been better, and added “I meant to say that the better the game does, the more stuff we can do. Part of Omens of Tyranny was made by co-development studios that we could not have done unless you fine folks supported us through supercredit purchase.”

As of today, Arrowhead has responded about the pricing issues and concerns about the rotation not being long enough. To acknowledge the feedback and thank them for their support, Arrowhead and their partnership with Guerilla had decided to gift the second wave of Helldivers 2 x Killzone 2 collaboration items for free and could receive today. Alongside the free items, Helldivers 2 players will only need to pay $10 worth of Super Credits instead of $20 if they wish they obtain both sets of Killzone Items and the duration of the items in the Superstore will be available from five days to 10 days, offering more chance for players to obtain the Killzone items without missing out.

Quite a positive response from Arrowhead CEO and CCO as they hope to continue to support the game and listen to the community feedback for assistance. For players wishing to grab the skins during the collaboration with Killzone 2 and join the chaotic fun, they can purchase Helldivers 2 on PS5 and PC via Steam
