Assassin's Creed Shadows Is Launching On Switch 2 This Holiday Season According to Leak

After Ubisoft was noncommittal on a Nintendo Switch 2 launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, a leak has just sprung, saying the port exists and it will be out in time for the Holidays.

After several hiccups in development (including a delay for an ‘undefined’ amount of time), Assassin’s Creed Shadows may now have a release date, according to a new leak that has come from Dealabs (and found by VGC) today. Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise is no stranger to leaks, as a potential Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake was potentially leaked by the lead actor in 2024, and it appears it has happened once again to a lesser capacity. This time, an upcoming title wasn’t leaked, but a port for an existing title was. Known (and often accurate) leaker, Billbil-kun, has leaked that not only is Assassin’s Creed Shadows coming to Nintendo Switch 2, it’s landing before the Holidays on December 5.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Final Preview - Balancing Power And Stealth

Fans have speculated that the title would be landing on the Nintendo console eventually due to the ratings board leak discovered by Reddit way back in April 2025, and due to the post on the PEGI ratings board, fans have believed the title would eventually make its way to the console. These rumours have heated up with the leak report from Dealabs, considering the port hasn’t been officially confirmed by Ubisoft.

According to the leak itself, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will not only be arriving on the Nintendo Switch 2 console, but the physical release will be held on a Switch 2 Game Key Card. This means the title will not be housed on a 64GB cartridge (like Mario Kart World), but upon inserting the card provided, the player will need to confirm a massive download for the title. Another third-party open-world title, Cyberpunk 2077, notably released on a standard cartridge for the Nintendo Switch 2, and fans have notably bashed Nintendo’s usage of the Game Key Card on internet forums, so this alleged decision is baffling.

Assassin'S Creed Shadows (Ps5) Review

It’s worth noting that despite the reliability of the leak, nothing has been confirmed regarding an official Assassin’s Creed Shadows port, and fans should hold tight before making any conclusions until one is made.
