Obsidian Entertainment announced a few more details on their upcoming first-person adventure title, Avowed, and it’s coming to Battle.net.
Obsidian Entertainment has been trickling out information about their next big title, Avowed, since it was announced way back during an Xbox Games Showcase in July 2020. Today, they’ve announced that there will be an option to play the game early. A post on the Battle.net website announced that Premium Edition buyers will be able to play Avowed five days early and install the game from the Battle.net client. Obsidian Entertainment’s latest pre-order trailer for the first-person adventure title can be seen below.
Avowed takes place in the same universe as the Pillars of Eternity RPG game series, the world of Eora. It’s up to the envoy of Aedyr (the player character from a distant land), who is sent to investigate rumours of a plague spreading throughout the Living Lands. The Living Lands are an island of mysteries and secrets, leaving it up to the player character to discover an ancient secret before the world ends.
On another note, Avowed can be found on the Xbox Game Pass platform on day one with a subscription, it can be found on Steam, and today it has been announced that Obsidian Entertainment will launch their first-person game on the Battle.net client. This is the same platform that just launched a Warcraft Battle Chest revealed at the Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct.

Due to Obsidian launching on Battle.net, IGN has surmised that fans can now purchase Obsidian Entertainment’s latest title with in-game Gold currency. According to the article, due to Avowed‘s $69.99 base price and the fact that a single WoW Token (premium currency) can cost 262,365 gold, fans can buy the entire game off Battle.net for 1.3 million in-game gold.
Obsidian Entertainment’s upcoming anticipated title Avowed will launch on February 18, 2025.
