A new financial report has backed Battlefield 6 as an extremely successful launch, claiming the new FPS has already sold 6.5 million units on all platforms.
The highly anticipated Battlefield 6 FPS launched on most platforms this week to a positive reception by fans and critics alike. EA’s return to Battlefield has received an 83 percent on Metacritic, and fans on Steam have returned with a “Very Positive” reception after over 39,000 reviews. Today, a new report has surfaced suggesting sales analytics match audience scores, with Alinea Analytics saying Battlefield 6 sales have exceeded 6.5 million units so far, with the majority of those units sold on PC. The report also says Battlefield 6 brought in over $350 million in revenue (the title has only been on the market for 5 days).

The report says the newly released title reached those sales numbers across all available platforms, citing its own internal estimates. What’s interesting is how close those estimates are when console versions for PS5 and Xbox Series consoles are compared. PlayStation reportedly sold approximately 1.5 million units, with Xbox not far behind with approximately 1.2 million units sold, according to Alinea Analytics. Most units were notably sold on the Steam platform, which makes sense considering the game was unplayable on the EA Play launcher when it released. Battlefield Head Vince Zampella even stepped in and asked players on X who have had issues to refund the title on EA and go get it on Steam.
Alinea Analytics’ Rhys Elliot’s says, “After years of missteps, the Battlefield series is back with a frankly outrageous commercial debut, with over 6.5 million units sold through in its first few days across PC and console, as per our estimates,” adding, “That translates to more than $350M in gross revenue, putting Battlefield 6 in the conversation with the year’s – no, the generation’s – biggest launches.” To put the launch into perspective, Elliot then says, “It’s closer to Call of Duty-tier numbers than any of EA’s premium-shooter efforts so far. But the question now is whether or not EA can foster this successful launch into a platform that stands the test of time.”
While Battlefield 6 is off to a huge start, fans should note Battlefield 6 Season 1 launches on October 28, which could be when the title’s heavily rumoured battle royale mode will launch. Fans can check out the official site for more details on the title’s first season.
