After a big 2024 and a GOTY nomination, Black Myth: Wukong developers Game Science have just teased “surprises” on the way for their breakout title.
The developers over at Game Science have had a busy 2024 with the release of the smash hit Black Myth: Wukong, and while accepting the fan-voted Game of the Year award at last night’s Golden Joysticks award ceremony, Game Director Feng Ji teased that the myth may not have concluded yet, making comments during his acceptance speech on behalf of the team at Game Science.

Director Feng Ji said “Of course, you might have already completed our game. That’s perfectly fine too. Keep following us, and there might just be some surprises waiting for you later this year” in the speech, alluding to potential upcoming DLC for Black Myth: Wukong. The potential DLC teaser has come at a time when the action title still has yet to be released for the Xbox platform due to an alleged exclusivity deal reported by Forbes’ Paul Tassi. Fans can see the interview on the official Golden Joysticks X (formerly Twitter) post below.
Black Myth: Wukong launched on August 19, and sold a staggering 18 million copies in two weeks across PC and PS5. While the title has sold well, CGMagazine’s review of Wukong calls it “a must-play game of the year” and Steam has backed up that notion with an “Overwhelmingly Positive” judgment on the title after over 700,000 individual reviews have hit the website (critical and otherwise).
While potential DLC for the hit action title has been rumoured or teased before, this is an official announcement from the game director and has made possible DLC for the title very real. Fans will only have to wait until Game Science decides to release more information regarding incoming “surprises” in the near future.
