bbno$ has temporarily shut down his website after receiving a legal notice from Blizzard Entertainment related to Diablo-themed content.
It is an unusual development. Even so, few would have expected bbno$, whose real name is Alexander Leon Gumuchian, to receive a legal notice from Blizzard Entertainment. The Canadian singer, songwriter and rapper is best known for his 2021 hit Edamame. Known for his irreverent style and playful online presence, he has built a substantial following, with his music earning millions of streams each year.
Despite that success, or perhaps because of it, his website, bbnomula.com, was reportedly served with a legal notice from Blizzard Entertainment over the use of copyrighted images. The site currently displays an error page styled after the iconic Windows Blue Screen of Death. Previously, however, it featured a deliberately retro 1990s aesthetic that evoked Diablo through its typography and background design.

Using archived captures from the Wayback Machine, screenshots of the previous layout show a tongue-in-cheek homage to 1990s web design, complete with animated GIFs. Blizzard Entertainment’s legal team, however, appears not to have shared in the joke.
In a post on social media, bbno$ shared a copy of the legal notice he received. In the email, Blizzard Entertainment’s legal team wrote: “This notice is issued on behalf of Blizzard Entertainment, Inc., the representatives of the ‘Diablo’ franchise and its respective intellectual property.”
The notice continued: “You are hereby ordered to remove all infringing Diablo-related content immediately from your website unless you are interested in reaching a settlement for your misuse of our intellectual property.”

bbno$ later explained on social media that he had taken his website offline while working to resolve the matter, writing: “My website is down. currently getting sued right now. sorry guys working on getting this resolved.”

The dispute is an unusual crossover between music and gaming culture, but it has drawn strong reactions from fans, many of whom voiced support for the musician in the comments. We will update this story as more information becomes available. In the meantime, readers can visit bbnomula.com to check the site’s status.
