In a new interview, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno provided more details about the enigmatic ‘Project M,’ stating that it will appeal to fans of existing horror franchises and will leverage Nintendo hardware functionality.
While speaking to Nintendo Insider, CEO Piotr Babieno pulled back the curtain a bit further regarding their upcoming Nintendo-exclusive title currently dubbed ‘Project M.’ While the interview covered a breadth of topics, including the recent Cronos: New Dawn port to the Nintendo Switch 2 and the possibility of other titles heading to the platform, Bloober Team’s CEO gave fans a bit more regarding their unnamed title.

In the interview, Bloober Team’s Babieno started by stating, “Nintendo DNA runs in my blood, so it was only natural that I was always looking for opportunities to bring our games to Big N platforms,” mentioning that he is a “Nintendo fan.” So much so that Bloober Team planned on releasing Cronos: New Dawn on the Nintendo platform the moment they learned about the Nintendo Switch 2. Babieno claims the unique features of the Nintendo Switch 2 allow titles to achieve a “new level of immersion,” regarding the recent Layers of Fear: The Final Masterpiece Edition.
When asked what fans should expect from the upcoming Project M, CEO Babieno said it remains too early to reveal concrete details. “You have no idea how hard it is for me not to reveal what Project M truly is,” he said. “For now, it is still too early to talk about it, but we are confident we will be able to share the first details very soon.” Later in the interview, he offered a tease of what players can expect from the title.
“Fans of Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Limbo and Eternal Darkness will immediately feel at home,” he said. “That said, Project M introduces a bold twist that no horror game has explored before. It is a vision that could only exist on Nintendo hardware.”

While Project M still doesn’t have a title, Layers of Fear: The Final Masterpiece Edition utilizes motion controls and Joy-Con 2 interaction, so it’s possible these features (alongside Joy-Con 2 mouse controls) could be present in Project M. “Without the support of the incredible people at Nintendo, this game would never have had a chance to exist” Babieno concludes regarding Project M.
Although Project M is still far away, when asked what his ideal horror game to remake or make a new entry in, Babieno mentioned Eternal Darkness, but then said, “creating a horror game with Samus Aran in the lead role—or a darker, more unsettling take on Link’s adventures—would be absolutely incredible.”
