Taking to the stage at Gamescom ONL 2025, the premier announcement was an explosive reveal of the story and gameplay for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.

Announced during Gamescom ONL 2025, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will feature an expansive and mind-blowing campaign that feels both grounded but also pushes the limits of what is real. As was teased during the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, the game will see the return of both David Mason and Raul Menendez.

Creative Director of Treyarch Miles Leslie and Raven Software Lead Narrative Producer Natalie Pohorski took to the Gamescom ONL stage to discuss Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. “It’s been a long road, and we’re thrilled to finally be sharing what we’ve been building,” said Leslie. “We’re diving into 2035 and its a future that feels real…just out of reach, but it’s also twisted in only the ways Black Ops could.”

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will feature high-stakes missions set in locations as varied as the neon-lit rooftops of Japan to the Mediterranean coast, and even into the deepest corners of the human psyche. Players will also experience Avalon, an expansive city whose secrets ripple across the Campaign. New to this game is the “Endgame,” which will be a culmination of everything players learn during the campaign.

Players as they wield personalized abilities and a wide variety of gear to face unexpected and evolving challenges, putting everything they’ve mastered throughout the story to the test. On top of this, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will feature 16 signature 6v6 multiplayer maps at launch—13 all-new maps and three returning Black Ops 2 classics—plus two new large-scale maps, all combining a new level of visual fidelity along with refined Multiplayer design for the most engaging Black Ops multiplayer ever.

The trailer also showed off some of the much-loved Zombies mode that will be returning to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Round-Based Zombies returns with all-new vehicle gameplay that takes players across a massive set of new locations, as well as the return of Survival Maps—which return for the first time since Call of Duty: Black Ops 2—and the brand new “Dead Ops Arcade 4” a wild mode, with deadly weapons, and new arenas in over-the-top chaos.

No release date was revealed for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, but players can pre-order the game.
