Call of Duty Adds Nicki Minaj In Celebration Of Hip-Hop & Season 5

There have been many video game crossovers over the past few years, and Call of Duty Season Five aims to hit the mark on a celebration of Hip-Hop with Nicki Minaj.

In a new post, the Call of Duty Blog has unleashed a torrent of information regarding the upcoming Season Five update for Warzone and Modern Warfare II. This time, the added operators are true assassins at their craft as Nicki Minaj and Snoop Dogg add their lyrical prowess to the battlefield.

The thing is, these word warriors aren’t just coming as part of the soundtrack, they’re full-fledged operators, ready to take up arms in the Gulag. The Minaj-less trailer for season five can be seen below, with the return of everyone’s favourite antagonist, Phillip Graves, who was thought to be a dead memory.

With the launch of Call of Duty Season Five, the free fan-favourite War Tracks are returning to celebrate 50 years of Hip-Hop. While these haven’t been seen since 2019, players who log into Call of Duty: Warzone or Modern Warfare II between August 7 and August 16 can retrieve four gifts free of charge.

The first log-in will net fans a track from the ’80s (Foundation), ’90s (Golden Era), or 2000s (Life After Y2K), The fourth day will give players a special weapon blueprint that can be used in any online mode at the player’s discretion. Below, fans can find the Season Five roadmap and the first look at Nicki Minaj and Snoop Dogg decked out in full operator gear. Notably, this isn’t Snoop Dogg’s first rodeo as he was included as a narrator in CoD: Ghosts in 2014.
