Although Summer Game Fest 2024 has passed, Capcom has revealed they will host the Capcom Next 2024 next week, featuring three heavy-hitting titles from their catalogue.
Capcom has just torn back the curtain on their upcoming showcase, the Capcom Next 2024, and while it does air next week the developers have revealed some of the details on what will be expected for fans. It’s safe to say there will be more zombies, as a Dead Rising Remaster and Resident Evil have already been confirmed to land on the showcase day. The announcement has been made on their official X (formerly Twitter) account and it can be seen below.
Capcom has revealed the Dead Rising Remaster, Kunitsu Gami: Path of the Goddess and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (for iPhone and Mac) will be the main titles shown, Dead Rising is the most surprising considering the game franchise has been placed on the shelf since 2016 when Dead Rising 4 released, and although there have been rumours nothing concrete has been confirmed until Capcom released the following trailer for the remaster which can be seen below. The trailer starts with a reminder that the original Dead Rising came out in 2006 for the Xbox 360, a full two console generations ago.
The Capcom Next 2024 has laid down the ground rules for fans not to watch the showcase in the hope that a ‘surprise’ will be revealed. On its announcement page, Capcom has strictly stated that the event will not include any new information on Monster Hunter Wilds, the showcase will be 25 minutes long, the date and time may change, and the games shown will have an age restriction (Resident Evil and Dead Rising).
Although one of the warnings on the Capcom Next 2024 is literally, “Date and time of the event may change without notice,” Capcom has revealed a planned starting time. The Capcom Next 2024 will start on Monday, July 1, 2024, at 6:00 EST, and fans can check out the official details on the massive event on the Capcom website. Although no platform has been provided for the event yet, it will likely be hosted on Capcom’s Twitch or YouTube channel on the day.
