Ascend With TGS 2026

TGS 2026 Capcom Spotlight: Everything Announced!

With a myriad of Nintendo Directs and Sony State of Plays in the rearview, TGS 2026 is upon us, and the Capcom Spotlight showed fans what’s next.

Like all other showcases (Summer Game Fest 2026, gamescom) the Tokyo Game Show 2026 is in full swing, showcasing oodles of details surrounding future releases and today, it’s Capcom’s turn. At the Capcom Spotlight, the company that built Raccoon City uncorked many of its upcoming releases, although sadly, they did not reveal a new Ace Attorney or anything new as most fans on forums wanted.

Although no new games graced the showcase, many new trailers did, and many details surrounding the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance expansion. Everything shown at the TGS 2026 Capcom Spotlight can be seen below.

Mega Man Dual Override

The first title up on the slate for the Capcom Spotlight at TGS 2026, is the previously announced Mega Man: Dual Override. First off, the developers confirmed again that Proto Man will be a playable character, and fans will be able to choose between the two, hence, “Dual Override”. Proto Man is also referred to canonically as Mega Man’s brother.

Mega Man plays as fans typically would imagine, but Proto Man is a closer range character akin to Zero from Megaman X. Mega Man and Proto Man can be upgraded mid-game with new chips that can effect their weaponry passively, and there are over 50 of them. These range from slightly upgrading abilities, to switching Mega Man’s buster to fully automatic.

Whether you’re playing as Mega Man or Proto Man, defeating robot masters will net you new powers and upgrades that you can deploy against other robot masters. One of the showcased boss fights, Twinkle Girl, uses magical girl poses and moves to try and delete Mega Man. Like what fans would traditionally imagine from a Mega Man title, you will have to remain vigilant and pre-empt attack patterns to defeat the adversary. It’s coming out Spring 2027.

Pragmata

Tgs 2026 Capcom Spotlight: Everything Announced!

Up next at the Capcom Spotlight, Pragmata showed off the new Mega Man and Roll costumes for the two main protagonists, and although the outfits add Capcom legacy to Pragmata, the free pack of outfits is available for free, so fans should grab them while they can! Pragmata is also receiving a first time discount on most marketplaces, so fans who were waiting for a price drop can get in at a cheaper cost now.

Six Resident Evil Titles Are Coming To Nintendo Switch 2!

Tgs 2026 Capcom Spotlight: Everything Announced!

Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Resident Evil Biohazard, Village and Resident Evil Requiem are coming to Nintendo Switch 2! The original Resident Evil titles (Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 Remake), and the new trilogy, Resident Evil Biohazard, Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil Requiem are coming to Nintendo Switch 2, as revealed at the Capcom Spotlight. Various projects are also currently underway to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the franchise, but fans will be able to play all modern entries on the handheld switch soon.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen

Up next at the Capcom Spotlight was another look at the upcoming Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen. The gameplay trailer shown at TGS 2026, revealed upgrades to performance, new abilities and the big bad you will be up against, when Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen launches.

Dark Arisen adds three major additions. Forsaken Dominion, where you can uncover the secret of the undying dragon, a new update that includes a whopping 12 new dungeons (with new threats), and a new character creator will be fully implemented giving fans new options to create their Arisen (and pawn). New official pawns will be recruitable from creators around the world (celebrity pawns), and new official pawns will be added to the roster over time.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is a massive upgrade to the original title, and it launches on October 6.

Street Fighter 6

At TGS 2026, Capcom Spotlight showcased gameplay from their upcoming DLC roster character, Arjun. The suffocating playstyle of Arjun was detailed, and he can be played at the Capcom booth at TGS 2026. Players who attend the Capcom booth at TGS 2026 can see new Street Fighter film screens for characters, as the character select screens are updated with their movie counterparts (Ex, Guile is Cody Rhodes). On top of that, as part of the ongoing swimsuit series, C. Viper’s outfit 4 (which doubles as the swimsuit outfit) will be released at the same time as Arjun on October 14.

Monster Hunter Outlanders

A new title is coming to the Monster Hunter franchise. Revealed at Capcom Spotlight and TGS 2026, Monster Hunter Outlanders can now be pre-registered on the app store.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Acendance

To close out the Capcom Spotlight for TGS 2026, Monster Hunter Wilds’ huge expansion, Ascendance, took the stage. The weight and might of the great dragon will be felt, as its looming presence will shadow the DLC, but so will a “constellation of islands” in the sky, that fans can explore at their whim. Ecosystems in Monster Hunter will also adapt, as one creature is seen birthing from the carcass of another, and a character says “something isn’t right,” and it certainly isn’t.

The new trailer showcased all of the calamity the great dragon will unleash, and its coming will cause ecosystems to adapt. On top of that, the Elder Dragon Teostra is making a comeback (as a hunt) and will be able to deploy against on the TGS 2026 show floor. Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance picks up right where the base game story left off, and a few years after the events of the base game, the Hunter’s Guild and friends created the new stronghold, Madoi, to weather the storm against the great dragon. Characters from the base game, like Nada, will return with brand new looks considering the time jump of a few years.

New attachments are also available in Ascendance, such as the Boost Bracer. This new attachment can fit to nearly any weapon type and change attack patterns with more devastating effects. The Boost Driver is similar, but gives the player a different moveset, and both can be combined to unleash devastating combos against hunts. Boost enhances all 14 weapons with new possibilities. A newly discovered Elder Dragon with the ability to bend the storm to its will has suddenly emerged from the darkest clouds over the new area in Skybound Eyrie, on top of Teostra making a return.

All in all, elder dragons, one massive great dragon, and new boost mechanics have been shown on the menu for Ascendance, and fans can deploy these actions against powerful new hunts and biomes to explore in the expansion. Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance launches sometime in 2027, and all of the new features can be played at TGS 2026.

Monster Hunter Wilds is also coming to Nintendo Switch 2, and fans can play local or online. All previous updates will also be included as well as permanent event quests on the Switch 2. Ascendance is also coming to the Nintendo console, at a later unspecified date. Newcomers can experience Monster Hunter Wilds as intended on Switch 2, on December 6.

That wraps the entire Capcom Spotlight showcase at TGS 2026. Fans looking for more information surrounding the big event, can head to the official website for all the news!
