Today at CES 2025, Lenovo announced two new additions to the Lenovo Legion Go lineup, major upgrades to the Lenovo Legion Tab, and even gave a glimpse at the Legion Go 2 prototype!

The Lenovo Legion Go is one of many handheld gaming devices on the market, and at CES 2025, the company has unveiled two new models, the Lenovo Legion Go S and the Lenovo Legion Go S – Powered by SteamOS.

The company has also shown off the Lenovo Legion Go S – Powered by SteamOS. This will be “world’s first officially licensed handheld powered by SteamOS.” This version of the Legion Go S will have all the same features of the regular Go S, but will run on SteamOS, Valve’s operating system. The purpose of this operating system is to optimize the Lenovo Legion Go S – Powered by SteamOS specifically for gaming.

“Featuring cloud saves that mean a seamless transition between PC gaming and handheld, Remote Play that streams games to the device from a PC, full Steam Store and Steam Library access, the Lenovo Legion Go S (8”, 1) Powered by SteamOS is a big step forward in freedom of choice for gamers who are looking for an OS that is optimized for handheld gaming.”

The Legion Go S will be available starting January 2025, with an expected starting price of $729.99 and the Legion Go S – Powered by SteamOS will be available starting May 2025, with an expected starting price of $499.99.

The Lenovo Legion Go 2 prototype was unveiled at CES 2025. Though the successor to the original Legion Go is still under development, we saw a sneak peek of the device and got some exciting new details. Notably, the Legion Go 2 prototype features a 784 Whr battery, up from just over 49Whr on the original. Other things Lenovo mentioned included rounded Lenovo Legion TrueStrike controllers, and a circular D-Pad.

Lenovo put a large focus on mobile and handheld gaming at CES 2025, also announcing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 powered Lenovo Legion Tab, bringing up to 165 FPS to your fingertips. The Legion Tab features a 14% larger Legion Coldfront Vapor Chamber, keeping your device cool while you take on the latest games.
