CES 2025: Lenovo Doubles Down on AI and Sustainability With Its New ThinkBook Lineup

Lenovo has unveiled its new ThinkBook range at CES 2025, showcasing a series of AI-powered business laptops that push the boundaries of innovation.

Lenovo consistently delivers a strong lineup at CES, and 2025 is no exception, with an impressive selection of business-focused devices reinforcing its leadership in the business tech space. Leading the charge is the ThinkPad X9 series, poised to impress both in and out of the boardroom. Available in 14-inch and 15-inch Aura Edition variants, these premium business laptops feature a sophisticated new design crafted from 50 per cent recycled aluminum, balancing elegance with durability through MIL-SPEC 810H certification.

The X9 series also introduces a distinctive “engine hub” design that optimizes cooling and performance while maintaining a slim profile, with Thunderbolt ports strategically placed on both sides for improved connectivity. As always, even though the new laptops are impressive looks wise, Lenovo has not neglected the specs under the hood, with Intel Core Ultra processors powering these machines, complemented by Windows 11 and AI-enabled features. The X9 series includes an advanced 8MP camera system integrated into a communication bar, alongside dual noise-cancelling microphones, making it ideal for the hybrid work environment.

While we’ve highlighted the laptop’s features in a previous news story, it’s undeniable that the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable is a showstopper and one of the most unique laptops showcased at this or any recent CES in recent years. This innovative device can expand its display from 14 inches to 16.7 inches with the press of a button or a hand gesture, providing nearly 50 per cent more screen space while maintaining a compact footprint. Weighing just 1.7 kg and featuring a 19.9 mm profile, it remains remarkably portable despite its expandable design.

Both the X9 series and the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 are equipped with Lenovo AI Now, an advanced on-device AI assistant built on Meta’s Llama 3.0 large language model. This system processes all data locally, enhancing privacy while offering features such as document organization and natural language interaction.

Pricing for the new lineup reflects its premium positioning. The ThinkPad X9 14 Aura Edition will start at $1,399 USD, while the X9 15 Aura Edition begins at $1,549 USD, both available from February 2025. The innovative ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable commands a premium price point of $3,499 USD and will be available in Q1 2025.

If that weren’t enough on the business front, Lenovo also announced the new ThinkCentre neo Ultra, an AI-powered desktop that combines impressive capabilities with a compact 3.6L form factor. This sleek yet powerful machine features up to an Intel Core i9 processor on the Intel vPro Enterprise platform, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPU, and an independent NPU card that can be easily upgraded. The system’s advanced triple thermal fan design optimizes cooling by drawing air from the top and expelling it from the bottom back, while support for Wi-Fi 7 and up to eight display ports ensures exceptional connectivity and multitasking capabilities.

For businesses seeking a more integrated solution, the ThinkCentre neo 50a is available in 24-inch and 27-inch variants, featuring up to Intel Core i7 processors, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and a vibrant 99 per cent sRGB display with a 100Hz refresh rate. The neo 50a models also introduce an optional wireless charging stand, making them the first entry-level business computers to offer this feature. Starting at $799 for the 24-inch model and $899 for the 27-inch variant, these systems provide a compelling value proposition for businesses looking to harness AI capabilities without significant infrastructure investments.
